Nick Jonas draws a crowd wherever he goes – even to a U.S. Senate hearing on diabetes.

The Jonas Brothers hunk, 16, spent time on Capitol Hill Wednesday testifying at a hearing on government funding for diabetes research.

When the teen heartthrob walked into the room, dozens of cameras were waiting and teenage girls filled the seats, even lining the back wall, to get a glimpse of Jonas. One woman fainted during his speech.

Nick Jonas Meets President Barack Obama

Originally posted 06/23/2009 02:20PM

Nick Jonas already met Sasha and Malia Obama on the first night they were in the White House – but on Tuesday the pop star got to meet their dad, too.

"I'm excited," Jonas, wearing a tailored gray suit, told PEOPLE on his way to the White House where he planned to pay a visit to President Barack Obama and a group of kids who live with diabetes. "This is the first time I'm meeting the president. It's gonna be fun."

But the singer's Washington, D.C., trip is not all glitz and glamour. The 16-year-old, who played at the Kids' Inaugural Ball after the November election, is taking a detour from his Jonas Brothers tour to testify Wednesday at a Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee hearing on government funding for diabetes research, as are Sugar Ray Leonard and Mary Tyler Moore.

Originally posted 06/19/2009 03:40PM

Did Joe Jonas call out his brother Nick and gal-pal Miley Cyrus on national TV? Believe he did!

During an interview Thursday night on Larry King Live, the veteran newsman asked the brothers about their "female situation." Joe, 19, claimed that all three are currently dating. But when King pressed on whether Joe's girlfriend (Camilla Belle, 22) is as famous as Nick's, Joe simply said, "I don't think anybody is as famous as Miley Cyrus."

When King's focus shifted to the coupling of Cyrus, 16, with Nick, also 16, the younger Jonas appeared incredulous and simply stated, "It's nice to have reconnected with her. For a little while there, we had not been as reconnected as we are now."

Less than a week after Miley Cyrus called it quits with Justin Gaston, the pop star admits that she has "reconnected" with ex-boyfriend, Nick Jonas.

"He's my best friend, and we still hang out all the time, and we've definitely reconnected," the Hannah Montana star told radio station 107.5 The River in Tennessee on Friday. "We don't know what's going to happen in the future, but right now we're just kicking it and hanging out as much as we can."

The pair, both 16, were spotted on June 9, jet-skiing together on Tybee Island, where Cyrus is filming her new movie The Last Song. "They looked like they were having a blast," says an observer.

What does the future hold for the Jonas Brothers? More music, more acting – and maybe a bestseller.

In the June issue of Seventeen, Joe, 19, opens up about where he sees himself in five years. "I guess personally I would love to do more acting, maybe movies – that would be really cool," says the singer, whose Disney Channel series, Jonas (costarring his brothers), premieres Saturday.

His acting role model? "I think Johnny Depp's work is really great – he always incorporates music into what he does."

Joe adds that he also might want to "write a book one day, because I love to read. The Alchemist is my favorite book of all time."

If the Golden Globes run "a little bit longer" this Sunday, you can blame The Jonas Brothers. Music's hottest trio has been added as presenters for the telecast, along with Hayden Panettiere and Martin Scorsese.

They'll join stars like Glenn Close, Jennifer Lopez, Cameron Diaz and Blake Lively on the show, presenting golden orbs to legends such as Steven Spielberg, who will receive the Cecil B. DeMille award for his "outstanding contribution to the entertainment field."

The 66th annual show airs live on NBC at 8 p.m. from The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.

NYPD Fears Jonas Brothers 'Mob Scene' on New Year's

Originally posted 12/30/2008 09:05AM

They may be nothing more than three skinny teenagers with nice hair, but they've struck fear into the hearts of New York City's finest.

The New York Police Department – which has heroically handled terrorist attacks, blackouts and riots without a whimper – is being cautious over the "mob scene" that could result when the Jonas Brothers perform in Times Square at Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest on Wednesday night.

According to a source, police officials fessed up to their concerns in a recent meeting with producers of the show.

"So they're now planning on using extra [security] men for support," the source says. "It's going to be crazy because everyone will be in Times Square to watch them perform on the show."

If the extra cops can't quell Jonas-mania, maybe Mother Nature can. The forecast for New Year's Eve is currently a bone-chilling 17 degrees, with a chance of rain or snow.
