The youngest member of the Jonas Brothers is back – and he's buffer than ever!
Nick Jonas, 21, spends a lot of time shirtless in the first-look trailer for Kingdom, the upcoming DirecTV series about group of mixed martial arts competitors based in a Venice, California, gym.
The former boy bander definitively sheds his teenybopper image in this nearly three-minute clip, which hints at plot lines involving drugs and prostitution, in addition to the pressures associated with the highly competitive full-contact sport. The series also stars Friday Night Lights alum Matt Lauria.

Nick Jonas is shirtless again!
The 21-year-old shows off his buff physique in his upcoming movie Careful What You Wish For due out in 2014.
"[It's] definitely a different role than anything I've ever done before," he told WCNC in Charlotte, N.C., in May while shooting the film.
The former Jonas Brothers singer, who along with his two brothers announced their breakup in October, plays the lead in the thriller.
"[It's] one of those things where I really wanted to challenge myself,” he said.

When the moment came to break up the Jonas Brothers on Oct. 3, Nick Jonas tells PEOPLE that he went "into a bit of trance."
"You prep a million ways," says Nick, 21. But once he admitted to his brothers how he felt, that he wasn't sure the band could continue as it was, "there was sort of a shut-off that happened. It took some time, about 24 hours or so, before we could really talk about it."
On Tuesday came the exclusive announcement to PEOPLE that, as a professional music team, the sibling trio are "over for now."
At first, Joe, 24, and Kevin, 25, said they were shocked by what went down.

After the Jonas Brothers abruptly canceled their tour three weeks ago – and went silent as they contemplated the band's future – reports surfaced suggesting that Joe Jonas had a drug problem.
Now the singer, 24, wishes to set the record straight, telling PEOPLE: "It's ridiculous!"
"We're not saying anything for two or three weeks and I'm a drug addict!"
What upset him even more is that his girlfriend, Blanda Eggenschwiler, was also dragged into the rumors.

Nearly three weeks after the Jonas Brothers announced they were canceling their tour due to a "deep rift within the band," the brothers tell PEOPLE that they've decided to call it quits.
"It's over for now," Kevin Jonas says.
"It's really hard to say 'forever,' " says Nick. "We're closing a chapter, for sure."
"It was a unanimous decision," says Joe.

It's almost two weeks since the Jonas Brothers canceled their fall tour, but two members of the trio have finally broken their silence.
"Bear with us," Nick Jonas, 21, Tweeted on Tuesday.
His three-word message was followed shortly afterward by one from brother Joe, 24, who asked the group's fans to "please hold while we get our s—t together."

The latest Jonas Brothers change-up is decidedly less dramatic.
The eldest Jonas, Kevin, 25, is in the process of building a new home in New Jersey, where his current Denville digs is on the market.
Jonas and expectant wife Danielle are asking for $2.2 million to move into the 7,200-sq. ft., five-bedroom house, which serves as the backdrop of their E! reality series, Married to Jonas.

Don't hold out hope for a reunion, JoBro fans.
"They are not getting along at all. It's uglier than you think," a music industry source tells PEOPLE.
"They are each looking into solo projects. Nick and the Administration are working on another album. They are moving forward away from the Jonas Brothers. I think this is the beginning of the end."
Still, a source close to the band maintains that the guys are still talking, at least. "The idea that this is acrimonious is wrong," says the source. "The guys are all talking and haven't stopped talking ever."
