Over nine seasons, How I Met Your Mother has acquired an impressive list of celebrity guest appearances.
There was Britney Spears as the dippy dermatologist's assistant obsessed with Ted (Josh Radnor). There was Bryan Cranston as the architect whose buildings always seemed to resemble – how shall we put this delicately? – male anatomy. Even Jane Seymour ditched Dr. Quinn's period attire for the sexy style of Marshall's (Jason Segel) cougar law school professor whom Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) just couldn't tame.
But there's a much smaller circle of stars who've managed to do something even more unique: play themselves. Some became part of long-running gags, others only filmed one-off appearances – but all were legen–wait for it–dary.

Joanna Garcia Swisher and her Animal Practice costars Bobby Lee, Tyler Labine and Kym Whitley stepped out to celebrate their new show at the Pooches and Press event Tuesday in Beverly Hills.
Swisher's plus one was her rescue dog, Cooper, which she owns with her husband, New York Yankee Nick Swisher. While enjoying the soiree, an on-site pet psychic told the actress her beloved pooch has "a human soul," an onlooker tells PEOPLE.
Besides having their fortunes told, the pets at the party indulged in doggy facials, massages and pet-friendly Sprinkles cupcakes.

It was date night for Joanna Garcia and her New York Yankee hubby Nick Swisher at Beacher's Madhouse in L.A. The couple had a front row table, which they shared with close friend Jamie-Lynn Sigler. They were in good moods, sipping cocktails and enjoying the burlesque show. Garcia especially seemed to love when drag queen Vicky Vox gave a male audience member a lap dance to Rihanna's hit "S&M."
Otherwise, Garcia and Swisher mingled with friends, got into the music and even shared an affectionate moment with Swisher giving his wife kisses on the cheek. Says an onlooker: "They both seemed incredibly happy and in love."

It was a home run kind of night for New York Yankees outfielder Nick Swisher and actress Joanna Garcia as they became man and wife in front of family and friends on Saturday.
The bride wore an ivory, strapless, drop-waist ball gown and veil by Monique Lhuillier, and the groom wore a tux by Burberry London.
They celebrated into the evening at the Breakers Hotel & Resort in Palm Beach alongside all-star guests including Garcia's castmates, Cameron Diaz and Swisher's Yankee teammates Alex Rodriguez and Johnny Damon. Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Reba McEntire and Lance Bass were all part of the wedding party.
