Michael Strahan & Nicole Murphy Are Engaged

For onetime New York Giants star Michael Strahan, May 22 was a big day: He got engaged to Nicole Murphy – and learned that the pilot for his new TV show, Brothers, had been picked up.
"It was a pretty great day," Strahan's manager tells PEOPLE exclusively.
Strahan, 37, popped the question to Murphy (the ex-wife of actor Eddie Murphy) on a beach in the Bahamas with a stunning canary yellow and white diamond ring.
"I have a great relationship and she's a great girl," says Strahan, who is a father of four. "I don't like to talk much about my private life, but I'm really happy."

After divorcing actor-comedian Eddie Murphy, the father of her five children, ex-model Nicole Murphy vowed she would never marry again. But that was two years ago and before she fell in love with New York Giants Super Bowl champ Michael Strahan.
"When I got divorced, I said never again," Nicole Murphy told PEOPLE at a Feb. 16 south Florida fundraiser for the John T. Petters Foundation, a charity that provides scholarships for students to travel abroad. "But some time has passed since Eddie and I split, and I know now what I want in a man: communication and shared interests. Michael and talk about everything, and we both love to travel, explore and laugh."
