Joel Madden Caught with Marijuana in Sydney

Joel Madden says he hopes he "didn't cause too much drama" after he was reportedly kicked out of his Sydney hotel Sunday after a housekeeper discovered a small amount of marijuana in his room.

There were no charges filed, according to both the Sydney Morning Herald and Madden himself, who addressed the incident on social media Tuesday.

The Good Charlotte singer Tweeted a link to his Tumblr account Tuesday morning, which included a matter-of-fact statement addressing the incident that occurred while the musician is Down Under serving as a coach on Australia's version of The Voice, which holds its season finale Monday night.

Nicole Richie & Joel Madden's 'Normal' Weekend with the Kids

It was a family affair for Nicole Richie and Joel Madden on Saturday.

The couple spent the morning with their two children, Harlow and Sparrow, in Pasadena, Calif., where they stopped at the Cheesecake Factory for lunch.

On their way into the restaurant, Madden spoke to his "adorable" children about the importance of safety while crossing the street.

"He was telling them to be careful and it was really cute," an onlooker tells PEOPLE.

The source adds, "Nicole and Joel looked really good and it just seemed like a normal family outing."
