If looks are any indication – and when you look this good, they surely are – Nicole Richie is in the best shape she's been in years.
Spotted this week in her hotel pool in Miami's South Beach, the 30-year-old beauty – and mother of two and Fashion Star mentor – was the picture of health.
Back in 2006, as friends and family expressed their worry, PEOPLE was reporting on the 5'2 Richie's shrinking weight, and how she sought help for her issues, also blaming her being thin on "nerves."

Fashion Star: Is It a Hit or a Miss?
Originally posted 03/14/2012 09:30AM
Well, that was interesting.
NBC's much-anticipated Fashion Star premiered Tuesday night, and it's definitely the spectacle we were promised.
The show started with a racy dance number that led into the first runway presentation, featuring looks from two contestants. It continued this way, showcasing three signature pieces from each designer, leaving the decision of who would stay in the competition – and who would go home – to buyers from H&M, Saks Fifth Avenue and Macy's.
The main focus of Tuesday's premiere was the runway show. Mentors Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie and John Varvatos had limited roles. There weren't many vignettes on the designers' back stories, and workroom drama was kept to a minimum.
Not that episode wasn't without any tension: Menswear designer Nicholas Bowes caused a bit of controversy when he dismissed Simpson and Richie's critiques of his trite motorcycle jackets and disjointed styling, saying he didn't value their opinions because they're women who design for other women.

Fashion Star premieres Tuesday on NBC, and though it's drawing obvious comparisons to Project Runway, Nicole Richie insists it's different.
"This is something that's never been done before," she tells PEOPLE in the video above. "We're talking about the epitome of immediate fashion." Case in point: the clothes seen on the show's runway will be available immediately online and in-store at H&M, Saks Fifth Avenue and Macy's. The stores' buyers are the judges while Richie, Jessica Simpson and designer John Varvatos all serve as mentors to the 14 contestants.
So what's it like for Varvatos – who's designed for stars like Gerard Butler and Chace Crawford – to work with lovely ladies like Richie, Simpson and host Elle Macpherson? Richie answers that one with grin. "I kept having to slap the smile off his face every time Elle would walk on the stage," she jokes.

The film KONY 2012 premiered Monday March 5, at 12 p.m. PST. By noon Thursday, more than 35 million views had registered on YouTube.
With the help of Facebook and Twitter, Jason Russell's documentary has even captured the attention of celebrities including Ryan Gosling, Rihanna, Oprah and Justin Bieber.
The slickly produced 30-minute video follows Russell's efforts since 2006 to raise awareness around the world about Uganda's guerrilla leader Joseph Kony, whose terrifying actions have landed him the top spot of the International Criminal Court's most wanted list. Kony's rebel group has kidnapped thousands of children, turning the boys into child soldiers and the girls into sex slaves.
In a determination to "make Kony a household name," so that Uganda military can find and arrest him, Russell has met with key politicians and his Invisible Children campaign has targeted 20 "culture-makers," including Tim Tebow, Angelina Jolie, Ryan Seacrest and Taylor Swift.

Originally posted 02/14/2012 05:55AM
Grammy nominees Rihanna and Katy Perry upped the glam factor for Roc Nation/Nokia's annual pre-Grammy brunch at Soho House West Hollywood Saturday afternoon.
A slender Rihanna turned heads in her corset and pants, while Perry could not be missed with her bright blue hair, which matched her dress.
Also there to celebrate Grammy weekend was Ellen Pompeo and her music-exec husband Chris Ivery; Nicole Richie, who shared a moment with The X Factor's L.A. Reid as he made his rounds; and Sam Ronson and Rashida Jones, who chatted and ate in the packed sunlit back room. Other talent mingling included Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, Corinne Bailey Rae, Ne-Yo and Christina Milian.
Jay-Z may not have been present, but plenty of partygoers were rocking blue accessories – in "silent respect," one was overheard saying – for his newborn daughter, Blue Ivy.
