Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger have more in common than just formerly sharing a judges' table on The X Factor.
Scherzinger, 33, like Abdul, 50, overcame a longtime battle with bulimia, she reveals in a Behind the Music special, airing Sunday on VH1.
Abdul, who told PEOPLE in 1994 she was constantly "spitting out" her food and "feelings," says she is glad Scherzinger had the strength to reach out for support.

Nicole Scherzinger says that after the emotional high from performing with the Pussycat Dolls, she'd come crashing down – with disastrous results.
"I'd come back to my room and I'd be alone, so I would just do things," she tells VH1's Behind the Music. "My bulimia was my addiction. Hurting myself was my addiction."
In the show airing Sunday, the sexy singer and former X Factor judge acknowledges that it's "embarrassing" to discuss her eight-year battle with bulimia.

Derek Hough & Nicole Scherzinger Go Club-Hopping in Hollywood

Former winning Dancing with the Stars duo Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough took their shimmying skills to Hollywood, where they were spotted hitting up two clubs in one night.
On Thursday evening, the pair – who has remained consistently close since their time together on ABC's hit show in 2010 – started off at new hot spot Lure.
"Derek came with friends and Nicole came later at around 12:45 a.m.," a source tells PEOPLE. "They danced and seemed to be in great spirits, having a fun time. They stayed for a bit and left together."
But that wasn't the only stop of the night for the two.
They also made their way to Jason Scoppa's Sayers Sessions, where Rumer Willis was performing as part of her weekly gig at the club.
Both Willis and Hough are regulars at the popular venue, where the professional dancer recently celebrated his birthday.

Joe Jonas Sticks to His Boys at a Vodka Bash

Fresh off the plane from N.Y.C. on Wednesday, Joe Jonas wasted no time getting back into the L.A. party circuit, heading downtown for the Absolut Greyhound vodka bash at the Belasco, where he joined other celebrities, including Nicole Scherzinger, Joel Madden and Glee's Jenna Ushkowitz, who was there with her Vampire Diaries beau Michael Trevino.
Taking in the sounds of DJ Politik and Swedish House Mafia, Jonas sipped on the signature cocktails of the night and hung out with his guy friends, including a member of his band.
"Girls came up to his table the whole time he was there," a source tells PEOPLE. "He was polite, but he mainly just stuck to his guys the entire night."

Making it all the way down the press line – in-between run-ins with former fellow Pussycat Dolls Melody Thornton and Ashley Roberts – Scherzinger acknowledged to reporters that people "are always rooting for" her possible singing competition show replacement, Britney Spears, adding that everyone's "behind her no matter what."

Less than a week after Janet Jackson sparked speculation that she may be joining The X Factor as a judge, Britney Spears is now the subject of casting buzz.
"Are we flattered that there could be interest? Yes," Simon Cowell told reporters on a conference call Wednesday, but wouldn't discuss what he thinks Spears would bring to the show as a judge. "I've learned a big lesson: keep your mouth shut. Don't give it all away."

The shakeup that's shaping up for season 2 of the Fox singing competition.
On the heels of the news that Steve Jones was leaving the show as host, judge Nicole Scherzinger is out as well, according to EW.com. And Paula Abdul was also let go from the show, a source confirms to PEOPLE.
Abdul had a tough time mentoring the groups, becoming the first judge without contestants on season 1. And Scherzinger faced serious backlash after Crow's elimination.

With Melanie Amaro just crowned this season's winner, auditions are already underway for next season's The X Factor – and contestants and viewers should prepare themselves for a few possible changes.
"Can we make the show better? Yes. I will never ever go into anything going forward unless I can believe I can make it better," Simon Cowell, the show's producer and judge, told PEOPLE Thursday after Amaro had won the $5 million recording contract. "Next year will be a bloodbath. We have to come out with something better than the rest, and that's what we aim to do."

The X Factor Crowns Its First Winner

It's been a drama-filled first season of The X Factor, but in the end it came down to three: Melanie Amaro, Josh Krajcik and Chris Rene squared off in Wednesday's final round of competition for the grand prize – a $5 million recording contract.
Simon Cowell said the trio represented the most talented group of finalists of any singing competition he's done. But after Wednesday's performances, the head judge stood firmly behind his mentee, early frontrunner Amaro, saying the 19-year-old deserved to win following her duet with R. Kelly on "I Believe I Can Fly" and rendition of Beyoncé's "Listen."
