Paris Hilton Felt Violated by Burglary, Says Sister

Originally posted 11/01/2009 07:00AM

Even though many of her items were recently returned after her home had been burglarized last year, Paris Hilton feels "very, very violated" from the experience, says her younger sister.

"She was just happy to get some of it back," Nicky Hilton, 26, told PEOPLE Saturday while hosting a Halloween party at Las Vegas's Pure Nightclub.

Paris Hilton, 28, was a victim in a string of celebrity burglaries that also included Rachel Bilson, Megan Fox, Ashley Tisdale, Lindsay Lohan, Orlando Bloom and Audrina Patridge. Last week, a group of mostly teenage suspects was arrested in a sting operation, and police say more arrests are expected.

In the unfolding case of the teenage burglary gang – suspected of breaking into A-list celebrity homes in Los Angeles – one parent says his daughter is no professional thief.

"She was in the wrong place at the wrong time, associating with the wrong people," Mikel Neiers tells PEOPLE of his daughter, Alexis, 18. "She got sucked into this. We're standing by her. I'm sure [the case against her is] going to be thrown out of court."

Alexis Neiers was one of four teenage girls arrested Thursday in a sting operation by LAPD detectives. A fifth suspect, Roy Lopez, 27, was also detained.

A source close to the case says the group is linked to burglaries at the homes of Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Orlando Bloom, and Audrina Patridge.

Reached for comment, Alexis's attorney Jeffery Rubenstein stated, "I expect my client will be fully vindicated when all the facts of the case come out. At this time, no formal charges have been filed against her. When the time is right, she will tell her side of the story."

INSIDE STORY: From High School Students to Celebrity Burglars

By all appearances Rachel Lee, Diana Tamayo and Nicholas Prugo were typical teenagers, living in and around the affluent community of Calabasas, Calif., which is home to many Hollywood stars.

But according to authorities and sources, these teens and their circle of friends had a darker side – having launched into a year-long crime spree that targeted celebrities including Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Audrina Patridge and Orlando Bloom in which thousands of dollars of designer clothes, jewelry, bags and other luxury items were taken.

All fingers point to 19-year-old Lee as the alleged ringleader, who had an apparent fascination with Hollywood fashion. In a sting operation Thursday, Lee, Tamayo, 19, Courtney Ames, 18, Alexis Neiers, 18, and Roy Lopez, Jr., 27, were all arrested in connection to the crimes. Nicholas Prugo, 18, was arrested last month and has been formally accused of the Lohan and Patridge burglaries. The gang allegedly located the addresses of celebrities using Hollywood star maps and the Internet, and calculated when the stars wouldn't be home based on their appearance schedules, a source close to the case tells PEOPLE.

A California woman apparently so envied the glitz and glamour of young Hollywood stars that she quite literally stole their looks.

Rachel J. Lee, 19, arrested along with several other women Thursday in a sting operation, is believed to be the mastermind behind recent break-ins at the homes of Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Audrina Patridge and Orlando Bloom, a source close to the case tells PEOPLE.

Described as having an obsessive fascination with celebrity fashion, Lee and her accomplices easily located the addresses of celebrities using Hollywood star maps and the Internet, and calculated when the stars wouldn't be home based on their appearance schedules.

Are Paris Hilton's serial-dating ways finally over? It's definitely a possibility if you believe the way she's gushing about her reunion with boyfriend Doug Reinhardt, with whom she briefly split in June.

"Ya, I'm really happy! Things have never been better, so it's exciting," Hilton, 28, told Hollyscoop.com on Tuesday night.

Also on hand: Paris's parents, whom Doug got to know in May amid talk of a possible engagement. Speaking of the rekindled romance, the Hiltons said the most important thing for them is that their daughter is happy.

• She's definitely not sulking at home! The same day Paris Hilton's rep confirmed her split from boyfriend Doug Reinhardt, the hotel heiress had a girls' night out with sister Nicky at Hollywood club MyHouse. But she wasn't lacking for male company: After arriving, Paris made a beeline for Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo's table. The Manchester United winger – who was there with male pals – handed the ladies champagne. It wasn't long before Paris and Ronaldo were dancing, flirting and talking close to each other. At one point, the soccer star even had his hand on her hip and they hung close during the night.
