Nikki Reed's Wedding Won't Be Twilight Themed

Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald are in the midst of wedding preparations, but don't expect their "I dos" to be anything like the lavish Twilight nuptials.
"They had a beautiful wedding, but Paul and I aren't Edward and Bella, at all," Reed told PEOPLE at the Ubisoft launch of Just Dance 3 in Los Angeles.
It's been a whirlwind romance for the actress and the American Idol alum, who met in March and got engaged in June.

Nikki Reed may not be a Twi-hard herself, but when it comes to her fiance, American Idol's Paul McDonald, the Twilight actress would go to any lengths.
"I've never camped out anywhere for anyone," the recently engaged actress, 23, told PEOPLE early Thursday morning while greeting fans – some of whom had camped out for days – at San Diego's Comic-Con. "But I can imagine I would camp out to go see my almost-husband anywhere, so maybe that's the kind of passion that they feel."
Reed's passion for McDonald, 26, runs so deep that in addition to becoming his intended, she's also become a volunteer marketing manager by contributing her own celebrity to his cause.

While Paul McDonald is busily preparing for American Idol's summer tour, he's got another big event in the works.
"I'm getting married – yes – to the lovely Nikki Reed. That's been really exciting," McDonald, 26, tells PEOPLE. "I'm really pumped up about that. She's an amazing lady, and I'm very lucky to be hanging out with her."
While McDonald is keeping mum about wedding details, he did confirm that the planning is indeed underway. "I'll let you guys know those plans as soon as they are allowed to come out," he says.

Now the couple, who met in March at the premiere of Red Riding Hood, are engaged and looking for a home together.
"I've never met anyone like him," the Twilight actress, 23, told PEOPLE in May of the American Idol contestant, 26. "I've never met anyone who has such a good solid heart and comes from such a good solid family and is just a genuine person."

After meeting in March, Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald embarked upon a whirlwind romance – and now they've taken the next step.
The Breaking Dawn star, 23, and her American Idol alum beau, 26, are engaged, a source confirms to PEOPLE.
Posing together at Sunday's MTV Movie Awards, the couple showed off a sparkler on Reed's left ring finger as she told E!, "He's the one."

Humor may be the way into Nikki Reed's heart. At least that's what worked for her boyfriend, Paul McDonald.
Though the relationship between the Twilight actress and the former American Idol hopeful is relatively new, Reed admits she's smitten.
"I love him and I don't care," Reed told PEOPLE Friday at an early 23rd birthday celebration at Las Vegas's Gallery Nightclub and Sugar Factory. "I've never met anyone like him. I've never met anyone who has such a good solid heart and comes from such a good solid family and is just a genuine person. We have the exact same sense of humor. I've never laughed so much with anyone as I do with him."
The couple, who had a more private birthday celebration on Catalina Island recently, even live together and are now looking to upgrade.

Paul McDonald thinks his new girlfriend, Nikki Reed, is "super cool," but he's not a fan of her work – because he's never watched the Twilight star's films.
"Honestly, I haven't seen any of her movies and know nothing, really, about her work," the American Idol castoff revealed during a recent radio interview on KOST 103.5 FM's morning show.
"She's super cool, man," McDonald, 26, added. "I think she likes me more because I've never seen any of her stuff."

Fans of Paul McDonald may be upset that the singer was booted off American Idol on Thursday's elimination but actress Nikki Reed – whom he says he is "officially dating" – is not.
"She is actually pumped," he said. "She said, 'Dude, you finally get to do your thing and be yourself and be the artist you are.' She is happy about the whole situation. She has been nothing but cool to me."
McDonald, 26, is also pumped because, he says, he really wanted to play the piano and show off his other talents.

Is it a match made in showbiz heaven? Just a few months ago American Idol contestant Paul McDonald was an aspiring folk singer with one heck of a two-step. Now he's wooing Twilight's Nikki Reed.
After meeting on the red carpet at the premiere of Red Riding Hood in March, McDonald tells PEOPLE that they have "just been kind of hanging out."
Sparks were evident when they first met. "You're amazing," Reed, 22, told McDonald, 26, while shaking his hand (watch a clip below). "I'm blushing," she continued. "I should go."
