And Penélope must have impressed Prince and his band with her dance moves – because the actress left with a souvenir: some drumsticks!

Cue the paparazzi: Cinema's rite of spring – the Cannes Film Festival – will feature an all-star cast, as will be officially announced on Thursday. But, for now, PEOPLE has learned that fans can expect to find Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis, Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem, as well as Sean Penn and Scarlett Johansson sharing the spotlight along the Croisette from May 11 through 22.
In addition, invitations to the 64th Cannes Fest are also out to Rolling Stone Keith Richards, Madonna, Jack Black and France's First Lady, Carla Bruni, who happens to be making her acting debut in a Woody Allen movie.
One thing is already for certain: Robert DeNiro will be sticking around the entire fest – he is the head of the jury that hands out the prizes.

Johnny Depp Calls Penélope Cruz a 'Phenomenal Mommy'

Johnny Depp can't say enough good things about Penélope Cruz as an actress, costar – and as a new mom.
"She's an inconceivably phenomenal mommy, which I've witnessed firsthand, and it's pretty incredible," Depp said on Friday of Cruz, who gave birth to a son in January. "She's as loyal and true a friend as anyone could ever dream of and I'm very privileged to be able to have her in my life."
Cruz, who was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in front of El Capitan Theater on Friday, feels just as lucky to have worked with Depp. In fact, she credits the actor with improving her language skills.

He's known for his high-concept collaborations with filmmaker Tim Burton, but Johnny Depp isn't above classic, slapstick humor – just ask Penélope Cruz, who's been the target of Depp's "fart machine."
"He fooled me once when we were doing Blow," Cruz, 36, told Jimmy Kimmel Thursday night on Jimmy Kimmel Live of her first time on set with Depp. "I was doing a very dramatic close-up, and he kept making that sound with the machine … I was just thinking, 'I hope they're not thinking it's me.' "
That was 10 years ago. Now that the duo are reuniting on-screen for the latest installment of Pirates of the Caribbean, which arrives in theaters May 20, Cruz says not much has changed – except for that machine.

Penélope Cruz and husband Javier Bardem are brand-new parents by day, and now they're officially a glamorous Hollywood couple by night as they walked their first red carpet – ever – as mom and dad, at the Oscars Sunday night.
Cruz, 36, and Bardem, 41, nominated as Best Actor for his role in Biutiful, wowed the fans lining the red carpet on their way into the Kodak Theatre.
Cruz, who just gave birth to a baby boy in January, revealed her rocking post-baby body, cloaking herself in a shiny, full-length red dress by L'Wren Scott that showed a trim tummy and accented ample cleavage. As she smiled shyly as cameras flashed around them, Bardem kept a firm hold of her hand.
