Spotted: Lonely Boy admitting that the twist at the end of Gossip Girl wasn't exactly logical.
PEOPLE caught up with Penn Badgley on Wednesday night at the De Nolet presented by Ketel One Vodka event in New York City, where he performed with his band, MOTHXR, as guests sipped on Ketel One cocktails including the 1691, Chamakay, the Brooklyn Easy and Not for Nuthin'.
We asked the question that's been nagging fans of the glitzy teen drama ever since it went off the air in 2012: How could Dan Humphrey have been the anonymous blogger torturing everybody's favorite Upper East Siders for six seasons?
"It doesn't make sense at all. It wouldn't have made sense for anybody. Gossip Girl doesn't make sense!" he said, laughing.

That's one way to stay warm!
As frigid temperatures hit New York, Zoe Kravitz and Penn Badgley cuddled up at the Cinema Society & Artistry after party for Warm Bodies at the Penthouse at the Hotel on Rivington.
"Penn ordered drinks for both of them and Zoe sat on his lap for much of the night," an onlooker tells PEOPLE.
The couple chatted with the film's stars Nicholas Hoult – who recently split from Golden Globe and Screen Awards Guild Award winner Jennifer Lawrence – Teresa Palmer and Analeigh Tipton.
Kravitz also stopped to chat with The Big C's Gabourey Sidibe before the night was over.

Did you figure it out?
The series finale of Gossip Girl, which aired Monday on the CW, had it all: two weddings (Blair marries Chuck; Serena marries Dan), two stunning wedding gowns (powder blue, beaded Elie Saab Couture on B, and a gold and white strapless Georges Chakra Couture on S), cameo appearances by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Rachel Bilson and Kristen Bell (as themselves, reading the roles of Blair and Serena from a script written by Dan), the return of Jenny Humphrey (briefly!) and the reveal of Gossip Girl's identity. And it's not Dorota.
The person behind the mysterious blog that has kept tabs on the Upper East Side's elite was not a girl at all – it was Brooklyn's very own Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley).

Art imitates life!
Blake Lively's been photographed in a wedding dress … but it's not the Marchesa gown she wore to wed Ryan Reynolds during their super secret ceremony last month.
The newlywed, 25, was snapped donning a gold and cream Georges Chakra Couture strapless gown on the set of Gossip Girl on Tuesday, as she stood opposite costar Penn Badgley.
Lively's real life wedding dress will be revealed in a photo package in the December issue of Martha Stewart Weddings, as the event planning powerhouse herself was behind the affair.

For the past few years, he's played brainy Dan Humphrey on the CW series Gossip Girl, but now, Penn Badgley is ready to take on more serious roles – and be a part-time musician.
In his new film, Greetings from Tim Buckley, Badgley, 25, plays (and sings as) late singer Jeff Buckley.
"For the first time I can say that I'm incredibly excited to be an actor and have done something creative that I'm proud of," Badgley tells PEOPLE from the Toronto International Film Festival. "I really want to focus on is the fact that this is a movie where I'm acting."

Penn Badgley is in Toronto promoting his new film Greetings from Tim Buckley, but the news of his ex Blake Lively unexpectedly tying the knot with Ryan Reynolds in South Carolina traveled fast.
"I actually didn't know until last night, but I think it's fantastic," Badgley, who still costars on the CW show with Lively, tells PEOPLE. "I couldn't be happier for her."
Badgley and Lively, both 25, became a couple during filming of their CW show Gossip Girl, and broke up in 2010. (He's now dating Zoe Kravitz.) Still, he thinks that the newlyweds are "pretty spot-on."

Over the course of 100 episodes of Gossip Girl, Penn Badgley has had his share of encounters with fans. But none were quite as intense as his first.
The cast was shooting at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art a few days after the show's premiere, Badgley, 25, told PEOPLE at the CW show's 100th episode party. He wasn't shooting, but his costars were texting him to come down, as the set was being besieged by fans.
"I tried to come down and wasn't able to get to the Met because probably, like, 40 or 50 Catholic schoolgirls all swarmed me and pinned me up against a chain-link fence," Badgley says.

Olivia Munn sampled some chicken drumsticks prepared by Roots drummer ?uestlove at Bon Appétit's BA Kitchen in New York. The actress also gabbed about poultry with editor Adam Rapoport, and bragged to him about her own killer chicken recipe. Also at the foodie-friendly bash: Penn Badgley, who stuck close to girlfriend Zoe Kravitz, and Ryan Phillippe, who arrived solo and spent most of his time texting in the lobby.

Like his Gossip Girl alter-ego, Penn Badgley knows how to have a ball in the Big Apple. Making a Manhattan statement in a purple button-up and a newsboy hat, Badgley tried his hand at pool at the member's-only Chivas Brotherhood's Chivas 1801 Club launch party in N.Y.C.'s West Village Thursday night. Guests enjoyed dishes such as Moroccan spiced lamb and mint meatballs, fall harvest pizzetta and seared scallops – washing it all down with specialty cocktails, including a Chivas and ginger ale concoction.

Tim Robbins is taking action.
The actor, who famously supports liberal causes, joined with protesters Wednesday at the Occupy Wall Street rally in Lower Manhattan. Robbins, 52, participated in the demonstration outside the Federal Courthouse in Foley Square.
"This is what an actual grassroots movement looks like," he tells the Financial Times. "It's a bit sloppy and disorganized but full of passion."
Demonstrators, who have been camped out in a park near Wall Street since mid-September, are protesting economic inequalities, corporate greed and the influence of corporate money on politics and government.
