Penn Badgley Recalls His Scariest Fan Moment – with 50 Catholic Schoolgirls

Over the course of 100 episodes of Gossip Girl, Penn Badgley has had his share of encounters with fans. But none were quite as intense as his first.
The cast was shooting at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art a few days after the show's premiere, Badgley, 25, told PEOPLE at the CW show's 100th episode party. He wasn't shooting, but his costars were texting him to come down, as the set was being besieged by fans.
"I tried to come down and wasn't able to get to the Met because probably, like, 40 or 50 Catholic schoolgirls all swarmed me and pinned me up against a chain-link fence," Badgley says.

Olivia Munn sampled some chicken drumsticks prepared by Roots drummer ?uestlove at Bon Appétit's BA Kitchen in New York. The actress also gabbed about poultry with editor Adam Rapoport, and bragged to him about her own killer chicken recipe. Also at the foodie-friendly bash: Penn Badgley, who stuck close to girlfriend Zoe Kravitz, and Ryan Phillippe, who arrived solo and spent most of his time texting in the lobby.

Penn Badgley Shoots Pool in N.Y.C.

Like his Gossip Girl alter-ego, Penn Badgley knows how to have a ball in the Big Apple. Making a Manhattan statement in a purple button-up and a newsboy hat, Badgley tried his hand at pool at the member's-only Chivas Brotherhood's Chivas 1801 Club launch party in N.Y.C.'s West Village Thursday night. Guests enjoyed dishes such as Moroccan spiced lamb and mint meatballs, fall harvest pizzetta and seared scallops – washing it all down with specialty cocktails, including a Chivas and ginger ale concoction.

Tim Robbins, Penn Badgley Join 'Occupy Wall Street' Cause

Tim Robbins is taking action.
The actor, who famously supports liberal causes, joined with protesters Wednesday at the Occupy Wall Street rally in Lower Manhattan. Robbins, 52, participated in the demonstration outside the Federal Courthouse in Foley Square.
"This is what an actual grassroots movement looks like," he tells the Financial Times. "It's a bit sloppy and disorganized but full of passion."
Demonstrators, who have been camped out in a park near Wall Street since mid-September, are protesting economic inequalities, corporate greed and the influence of corporate money on politics and government.

Blake Lively and Penn Badgley Break Up

Just like their onscreen counterparts Serena van der Woodsen and Dan Humphrey, Gossip Girl costars Blake Lively and Penn Badgley have ended their real-life romance, too.
A rep for both stars has confirmed their breakup.
Lively, 23, and Badgley, 23, have been linked since 2007, though they initially denied their romance, saying they were just friends and costars. Since 2008, however, the two have gone public with their relationship, appearing together at events and, often, hand-in-hand in New York City.
Most recently, the former couple went shopping for candles together at Henri Bendel in New York last weekend.

Plenty of star couples have turned up at the Toronto International Film Festival hand in hand – but for Penn Badgley and Blake Lively, a date night was mission: impossible.
Badgley walked the carpet solo for the premiere of his new comedy Easy A on Saturday at the same time as Lively screened her movie, The Town. "Unfortunately, her premiere is, like, right now," Badgley, 23, told PEOPLE. "Otherwise, we would be at each other's."
Lively stars as a troubled single mom in the crime thriller, directed by Ben Affleck and costarring Jon Hamm and Rebecca Hall. "It was a pretty rough experience," says Lively, also 23. "Every scene required so much emotion and pain."

• After a "smooch-filled" lunch at L.A.'s Urth Caffé, Jesse James and girlfriend Kat Von D headed down the street for some hands-on shopping at J. Gerard Design Studio and Peace Gallery. While the LA Ink star browsed couture gowns, James doted on her. "He kept on kissing her and wrapping his arms around her from behind," the onlooker says of the duo, who "were finishing each other's sentences." Adds the onlooker: "The romantic chemistry was palpable." The two also picked up his and hers "Rebel with a Cause" T-shirts, and James bought Von D a glass bead lariat-style necklace, which she wore out the door.

• On a break from shooting Gossip Girl, Blake Lively and Penn Badgley shared a romantic brunch at Five Points in New York. According to an eyewitness, the actor was "very doting" and even walked his girlfriend to the bathroom at the end of their meal. The two left the restaurant arm-in-arm.
