It's easy to overlook among all the other more important things going on in the world, but Aug. 12 is Middle Child Day.
As the second of three children born in a 36-month period, this is the one day of the year I get any attention at all. In this regard, I'm not as lucky as the eight famous middle children you're about to read about, many of whom get attention every day of the year.
But apart from that, how do these celebrity middle children conform to the stereotype? That's what we're exploring, below:

Come Sunday, a Manning will step out onto the field at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., in an attempt to win another Super Bowl ring – but it won't be Eli.
Instead, the New York Giants quarterback's older brother, Peyton, will be vying for his second Super Bowl championship at the home stadium of his brother's team, and that's just the way Eli likes it.
"If I'm not going to be able to play in a Super Bowl in my own stadium, there's no one else I'd rather than Peyton to play in it," Eli told PEOPLE on Wednesday while appearing at a promotional event for Purina Pro Plan. "I'm excited for him."

The greatest day in sports will soon be upon us: This Sunday, the Denver Broncos will face off against the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLVIII at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. If you're a football fan, you already knew all that. And if you're not, you probably don't care.
Well, Peyton Manning is here to change that. You don't need to study his stats or read up on why cold weather could hurt his chances, nothing like that. Instead, in five short clips, he'll convince you he deserves your support by mastering the second most important part of Sunday's match-up: the commercials.
Manning has become synonymous with the many comedic TV spots he's filmed over the years. Here, we present his five best:

Peyton Manning is Sports Illustrated's Sportsman of the Year.
Manning, 37, has led Denver to an 11-3 record this year, his second with the Broncos after missing the 2011 season with Indianapolis because of neck troubles that affected his right triceps. He has thrown 47 touchdown passes, three shy of Tom Brady's NFL season record.

An engaged couple pulled their own version of a Hail Mary pass, mailing out a wedding invitation to NFL quarterback Peyton Manning. And it worked (sort of).
Unfortunately, the Denver Broncos player will not be joining the bride and groom for cake and a game of catch, but he did respond to the couple's request. According to a Reddit post made by the brother of the bride-to-be, Manning "regretfully declined" the chance to attend Anna and James's nuptials.

New Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is already earning a warm welcome in Colorado: the NFL star got a round of applause from fans at Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House in Denver.
A day before the Broncos' breakout star Tim Tebow signed with the New York Jets, the team's new QB, 35, tucked into a prime rib eye with a friend as star-struck fans looked on.
"He shook a lot of hands as he came in," an onlooker tells PEOPLE. "He was really taken aback by the warm greeting."

If you have to choose between taking Justin Timberlake and MVP quarterback Peyton Manning out for dim sum, here's a tip from Justin himself: Take Peyton.
"I can't even repeat what I said in the commercial," Timberlake, 28, told PEOPLE on the Emmys red carpet about a recent TV spot the two filmed for Sony Bravia HDTV. "I think it is Mandarin."
According to Timberlake, nailing the Chinese dialogue – which they spout as they play table tennis under the watchful eye of ESPN sportscaster Erin Andrews – was nearly insurmountable.
"Peyton, it took him about five minutes to learn it, and it took me about 20 minutes to learn it," he said. "I held up. production. I was very embarrassed."
