In her breakout single "Royals," Lorde sings about gold teeth, Grey Goose, trippin' in the bathroom, blood stains, ball gowns and trashin' the hotel room, among other things.
In conclusion: These are not the first thoughts that come to mind when we think of the Royal Family.
But if the likes of Prince William, Kate Middleton, Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles and Prince Harry formed a cover band and took on Lorde, well, we know that power group would win it all at Sunday's Grammy Awards, where the song is up for record of the year, song of the year and best pop solo performance. (Lorde, 17, is also nominated for best pop vocal album.)
Until then, we'll just let the real royals take the mic.

There was no red carpet or flashing cameras as Kate Middleton joined her sister, Pippa, at a laid-back party on Monday afternoon.
The siblings kicked off their New Year festivities early at the celebration at a friend's place in Bucklebury.
"Kate looked incredible," a fellow reveler told PEOPLE. "She was very jolly and very happy."

In case you missed it, hang on to your hat, er, fascinator: Pippa Middleton isn't making her way down the aisle quite yet.
A source shot down rumors that Kate's younger sister is engaged to marry Nico Jackson, whom she's been dating for about a year. This means we can stop obsessively checking our mailboxes for a wedding invite – but our hope for another Middleton happy ending is just as strong as ever.
Her sister's big day is still universally referred to as "the royal wedding," so we know the pressure will be on for Pippa when the time comes. (It's also the day we started believing in love, so, again, no pressure!)
Sure, she has big shoes to fill. Alexander McQueen heels, to be exact. But we know she has what it takes to follow in the footsteps of Kate when she chooses to tie the knot with a prince charming of her own. And it will be royally awesome because ...

Don't start shopping for engagement presents just yet – Pippa Middleton isn't set to wed boyfriend Nico Jackson, PEOPLE has learned.
Speculation was mounting that Kate's little sister and her beau had gotten engaged, but a source tells PEOPLE "it is not true."
The rumors heated up after Middleton, 30, took a trip to India earlier this month with her stockbroker boyfriend, 36, and reports claimed he'd popped the question.

A lot of doting parents have their baby's handprints as a keepsake, but Pippa Middleton has reportedly gone one step further – she's had her nephew Prince George's hands and feet cast in silver.
The Daily Mail reports that the party planner arranged to have the sculptures made as a christening gift for the 3-month-old and his parents, Prince William and her sister, Kate.
According to Wrightson and Platt, the company that makes the sculptures, it takes 30 seconds to make the mold by placing the baby's feet in a jelly-like mixture of water and a seaweed-based powder (which is a long time to stop a newborn from wriggling around).

The joy of succession.
On Thursday, the Palace released four official portraits showcasing the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their son, Prince George, taken after the young royal was christened on Wednesday.
In one of the historic photographs taken by celebrity photographer Jason Bell Queen Elizabeth sits with three generations of heirs – the Queen, 87, poses with son Prince Charles, 64, grandson Prince William, 31, and 3-month-old Prince George. The image pays homage to a photograph taken in 1894 of Queen Victoria with her four living immediate heirs at the christening of then Prince Edward Albert of York.

A big day for little Prince George.
Lightly jiggled in his father's arms, the 3-month-old looked slightly perplexed at the attention as his parents, Prince William and Kate, greeted clergy at the doors of the baby's special christening service.
Led by the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, the 35-minute, private ceremony started at 3 p.m. London time (10 a.m. ET) at the Chapel Royal in St. James's Palace.
Shortly after her arrival with Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth spoke with William and Kate, with smiles all around. Kate – in an Alexander McQueen outfit and nude-and-ivory Jane Taylor hat – greeted George's great-grandfather with a kiss on both cheeks and a small curtsy.
As if to underscore the continuity of the monarchy, there, too, at the chapel door were Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.

Prince William and Kate were nowhere in sight, but British high society still managed to snag itself a royal and a Middleton Saturday night.
Prince Harry and Pippa Middleton were on hand to attend the splashy Boodles Boxing Ball at London's Grosvenor House Hotel.
The annual charity gala, which is now in its fourth year, benefits a foundation for terminally ill children and a trust for injured soldiers.

The birth of Prince George is being marked in many ways, and now jewelry is on the list.
The collection's designer, Claudia Bradby, has worked with the Duchess of Cambridge before and draws her inspiration from the Middleton crest, which features three acorns to represent their three children – Kate, Pippa and James.
"Mighty oaks from little acorns grow – that's the saying and the sentiment behind it," Bradby tells PEOPLE, adding: "Plus, it has some relevance to them as a couple because the inspiration for the design was drawn from her own family crest."

Now that Prince George is here (after a long wait), the next question is: who will Prince William and Kate choose to be their son's godparents?
Preparations are already underway for the future king of England's christening, which is set to take place in the fall, but there's a lot of speculation over who the newborn's six godparents will be – the royal family traditionally chooses three men and three women.
According to British betting firm Ladbrokes, William's brother, Prince Harry, and Kate's sister, Pippa Middleton, are the firm favorites, but the list of other contenders even includes soccer star David Beckham (at 16/1 odds)!
