Kate Must Curtsy to Princesses Beatrice & Eugenie, Per Protocol

She may be married to a prince and could one day become Queen of England, but the Duchess of Cambridge apparently is still outranked when it come to having to curtsy to "blood princesses" in the royal family.
As a result, should Kate happen to see husband Prince William's cousins – such as Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, or Queen Elizabeth's daughter Princess Anne – she should show the proper mark of respect, it was reported in the Sunday Telegraph.
The rule of protocol comes after the Queen reportedly underlined the order of precedence in the family by circulating a memo to the various branches of the royal family in Britain.

Prince William got some beaming support from Kate Monday during the annual service for the illustrious order of chivalry, the Order of the Garter.
Wearing the traditional plumed hat and long, deep purple velvet robe, he walked down from Windsor Castle to the service alongside his father Prince Charles as his wife smiled at him outside of St. George's Chapel.
Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, in an Alexander McQueen coat and hat by Jane Corbett, was with Charles's wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Sophie Wessex and other royal relatives watching the procession from the Galilee Porch.

Prince Philip Steps Out After Illness – With the Queen, William & Kate

Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, was back by Queen Elizabeth's side for a day of pomp and ceremony in London Saturday, a week after leaving the hospital.
The 91-year-old joined the Queen, Prince William and his wife Kate, and other members of the royal family for the traditional balcony appearance at Buckingham Palace.
Earlier, Philip donned the red tunic and heavy bearskin hat of his rank of Colonel in the Grenadier Guards at the annual birthday parade for the Queen – also known as Trooping the Colour.
Philip has been recovering at home since leaving the hospital, where he was treated for a bladder infection. But on Saturday, he was seen standing ramrod straight as 1,600 soldiers paraded in front of the Queen, 86. He and the Queen (in a bright yellow coat and dress outfit by her in-house designer Angela Kelly) were transported from the palace to the parade grounds in a glass coach for the military spectacle.

He was in the hospital for part of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebration, but Prince Philip will be home in time to celebrate something else – his 91st birthday.
After a five-night stay undergoing treatment for a bladder infection, the duke, who turns 91 Sunday, has left the hospital, BBC News reports.
"The Duke of Edinburgh continues to make a good recovery," a Buckingham Palace spokesman said of Philip, who waved to well-wishers as he left the hospital Saturday. "He will continue his convalescence at home. He will spend the weekend privately."

Queen Elizabeth paid a 50-minute call on her ailing husband, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, on Wednesday, at London's King Edward VII Hospital.
Arriving shortly after 5 p.m., the Queen, 86, smiled broadly for photographers as she climbed into the royal Bentley following her visit, reports the Telegraph.
On Monday, Philip, who will turn 91 on Sunday, was rushed to the hospital from Windsor and diagnosed with a bladder infection.
Despite his condition – and his having missed the final two days of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee festivities – Philip was said to be in "good spirits" and responding to antibiotics, having "improved considerably" since his admittance, according to a statement from Buckingham Palace on Wednesday.

The Duke of Edinburgh is feeling "a lot better," his youngest son Prince Edward said Tuesday.
Edward visited Prince Philip in a London hospital where her was admitted Monday with a bladder infection.
Leaving the hospital, Edward told reporters: "He is feeling a lot better, thank you very much indeed. I think a good rest is probably required."
Philip, who turns 91 on June 10, has been keeping up with the celebrations for the Queen's Jubilee that have been going on across London.

Queen Elizabeth cut something of a lonely figure as she processed down alone the aisle of London's St. Paul's Cathedral for Tuesday's special service to mark her Diamond Jubilee.
With her husband, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, in the hospital, Her Majesty, 86, took her place at the end of the procession, a few paces behind her son Prince Charles, 63, and his wife Camilla.
Just ahead of the trio was the the Duchess of Cambridge in a dusty pink Alexander McQueen dress and Jane Taylor hat.

Sadly, the Queen's "emotional rock" – as grandson Prince Harry described his paternal grandfather – will not be with her for her Diamond Jubilee pop concert.
Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, who will turn 91 next Sunday, was rushed from Windsor Castle on Monday to London's King Edward VII Hospital, according to a statement from Buckingham Palace.
The hospitalization was described "as a precautionary measure after developing a bladder infection, which is being accessed and treated," and according to the statement, "Prince Philip will remain ... under observation for a few days."
On Sunday, Philip stood with his family in the freezing rain for four hours during the Queen's Diamond Jubilee river pageant.

A beaming Queen Elizabeth kicked off her Diamond Jubilee celebrations Saturday when she was accompanied to the Epsom Derby by her granddaughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.
The princesses were part of a large royal party, which also included their dad Prince Andrew, as the family began the weekend of fun to mark 60 years on the throne for the Queen. Their mother, Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, even Tweeted: "So proud of my of my beautiful daughters and how special to be at the Epsom Derby supporting their Granny what an amazing Grandmother the Queen is."

The Duchess of Cambridge navigated another royal first Tuesday when she joined Queen Elizabeth – and 8,000 other people – at a garden tea party at Buckingham Palace.
Under sunny skies and an uncharacteristically warm 77 degrees, she wore a familiar outfit: a hat by Jane Corbett and the same $2,000 pink Emilia Wickstead coat dress first seen 11 days ago at the Windsor Castle lunch the Queen gave for visiting royals.
Led by the Queen and Prince Philip, the royal party, including Kate, stood to attention for the national anthem before stepping down onto the garden's lawns.
