Kate & William Are Among the Royals Cheering on Zara Phillips

It wasn't your everyday family outing.

On Monday as the Queen's granddaughter Zara Phillips competed in the difficult cross-country portion of Olympic equestrian event, her relatives Prince William, Kate, Prince Harry, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, and Camilla all applauded enthusiastically from the stands, as about 50,000 other spectators – including Phillips's mother, Princess Anne – viewed from along the 3.5-mile, 28-obstacle course.

Five minutes after setting off on her horse High Kingdom, Phillips, wearing No. 40, negotiated the Tower of London fence, eliciting tremendous applause – including from her cousins. Sitting between William and Camilla, Kate, who wore a pale blue Team GB badge on the right lapel of her navy blue jacket, also beamed a huge smile.

And there were more smiles to come.

Zara Phillips: First Horses, Then Babies (Maybe)

Having skipped a honeymoon to get right back to work after her Royal Wedding in July, Zara Phillips says she wants to start a family with rugby player Mike Tindall.

But they can wait. "I'd love to have kids, but not at the moment. You know – I'm just happy competing and putting the work in," the equestrian, 30, tells the U.K. magazine Tatler for its October issue.

"There are always other competitions and other dreams that you want to achieve. Winning Badminton and Burghley, the Olympics, another World Championship," she says. Phillips is also launching her own line of riding gear.

Prince William's Cousin Zara Phillips Is Engaged

Prince William and Kate Middleton will soon have another royal wedding to attend – one that isn't their own.

William's cousin Zara Phillips, 29, is now engaged too, after her boyfriend, England rugby player Mike Tindall, popped the question at their home in Gloucestershire on Monday.

"I am delighted that Zara has agreed to marry me," Tindall said in a statement. "We are both very excited about the next stage of our lives together."

Added Phillips: "I was really shocked when Mike proposed but I am very happy."

There is no news on a wedding date or whether the blonde showjumper – who, as the daughter of William's aunt, Princess Anne, is 12th in line to the throne – will beat William and Kate to the altar in late April.

Kate Middleton & Camilla: Who Will Curtsy to Whom?

Ah, the complexities of the royal pecking order.

Now that Kate Middleton is on the fast track to royalty, an interesting question of politics at the palace has been raised: Will Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall (a.k.a. Prince William's stepmother) have to curtsy to the young princess?

The short answer, it seems, is yes.
