Princess Eugenie Declines Concert Duet with Beyoncé

Was it a case of royal stage fright?
Princess Eugenie, the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, may have had a choice seat near the stage for Beyoncé's concert at London's O2 Arena Tuesday. But when the singing star pointed the microphone in the young royal's face and asked her to belt out a line from "Irreplaceable" as she does to audience members each night, Eugenie blanched, according to a report from the U.K.'s Mirror.
According to the report, which cites an eyewitness, Beyoncé didn't apparently recognize Eugenie when she asked her to sing the line "to the left/to the left" in her hit song.
Instead, when she held the microphone out, Eugenie dodged the opportunity, ducking away in embarrassment and dropping to the ground, according to the Mirror report. "All Eugenie's friends were teasing her about her stage fright for hours afterwards," the paper reports, quoting a concertgoer.

It wasn't your everyday family outing.
On Monday as the Queen's granddaughter Zara Phillips competed in the difficult cross-country portion of Olympic equestrian event, her relatives Prince William, Kate, Prince Harry, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, and Camilla all applauded enthusiastically from the stands, as about 50,000 other spectators – including Phillips's mother, Princess Anne – viewed from along the 3.5-mile, 28-obstacle course.
Five minutes after setting off on her horse High Kingdom, Phillips, wearing No. 40, negotiated the Tower of London fence, eliciting tremendous applause – including from her cousins. Sitting between William and Camilla, Kate, who wore a pale blue Team GB badge on the right lapel of her navy blue jacket, also beamed a huge smile.
And there were more smiles to come.

Originally posted 07/12/2012 03:00PM
The word "princess" usually calls to mind floor-length gowns, dramatic up-dos and jaw-dropping jewelry. But Princess Eugenie – daughter of the Duke and Duchess of York, and sixth in line to the throne – wore an entirely different outfit Wednesday: a graduation cap and gown.
Eugenie, who recently received a degree from Newcastle University, looked positively regal in her regalia when she was snapped at her commencement ceremony on July 11.
Donning the school's traditional cap and gown, she beamed at the camera and clutched her new degree in English and history of art.

In a spectacular display of royal pageantry, Queen Elizabeth was feted at a special river-born celebration Sunday when she and her family rode down the Thames through London.
In a scale that hasn't been seen for around 350 years, more than 1,000 boats created a magical flotilla along the river – with the Queen, 86, at its heart. She took her place on the 210-ft. Spirit of Chartwell royal barge, which was given a makeover and bedecked with 10,000 roses, carnations, sweet peas and red charm peonies for the cruise – the centerpiece of her Diamond Jubilee.
Helping welcome her aboard were her grandson Prince William and his wife Kate.

Queen Elizabeth Loves to Laugh with Her Grandkids
Originally posted 05/25/2012 07:45AM
To the outside world, Queen Elizabeth sometimes appears as a poker-faced woman who seldom lets down her guard or offers up an opinion.
But when she's around her eight grandchildren (and two great-granddaughters), she "lights up," according to one of them.
Princess Eugenie, 21, says she loves telling the 86-year-old monarch about life at university. "We talk about my Newcastle life and how I've got so many essays and things and she still goes, 'Aha,' [and] laughs at what I say, which is lovely," Eugenie says during an ITV1 special, Elizabeth: Queen, Wife, Mother, airing in Britain on June 1.
