Amid the musical acts set for Sunday night's Grammy Awards, the biggest showstopper of all may be the live, on-air wedding of 34 couples.

During Macklemore & Ryan Lewis's performance of their hit "Same Love" (for which they'll be joined by Madonna), diverse couples – including gay, straight, of different ages and races – will wed, the New York Times reports. And Queen Latifah will officiate.

The weddings "will be in our minds the ultimate statement of equality, that all the couples are entitled to the same exact thing," Lewis said.

The rumors are true: Kelly Rowland did get engaged recently – and it was quite the long-distance proposal!

Her boyfriend and manager Tim Weatherspoon popped the question over Skype while she was in Bulgaria, the singer and X Factor judge reveals in an interview airing Wednesday on The Queen Latifah Show, reports E! News.

"He put a ring on it," she says. "It's been a while," she adds of their relationship. "We've kept it very, very low – for years, to be completely honest."

A new version of playwright Robert Harling's stage-to-screen dramedy Steel Magnolias is geared up as a Lifetime TV movie to air in the fall – but the cable network is already previewing the tear-jerker on its website. Watch the trailer below (and have the Kleenex ready).

This time, the women at the core of the Southern story, set in the fictional Louisiana town of Chinquapin, will be played by African Americans: Queen Latifah as M'Lynn, Alfre Woodard as Ouiser, Phylicia Rashad as Clairee, Adepero Oduye as Annelle, and Condola Rashad, the Tony-nominated, real-life daughter of Phylicia, as Shelby.
