[YOUTUBE "G0PYK0nXx4g"] Have you been watching the current season of True Detective and thinking "Hey, this would be better with more car chases?"
Well, at least several other people thought so too, and now a mash-up of the show with another famous Los Angeles-based cop series, Starsky & Hutch, delivers exactly that, with the latter's classic theme song to boot.

By the end of the first three episodes of season 2 of HBO's True Detective, you'll begin to detect a huge, disturbing mystery, much as you might begin to detect a big, hairy, red-eyed spider as you make your way across a spider web. (This imagines, of course, that you have been made very tiny.) It's powerful. And unnerving.
But you have to make your way across all that web first. The premiere is tons and tons of web – nothing but web: sticky and frustrating.

Internet, we've got a case to crack: What is going to happen in True Detective's second season?
A new trailer for the HBO drama dropped Thursday, but it doesn't make deciphering the anthology's heavily-guarded plot any easier.
The new teaser gives us a little more information than the first: We hear bits and pieces of dialogue, and Rachel McAdams shows us she's not to be messed with as her character, Officer Ani Bezzerides.
"This girl's gone missing," she growls. "Nobody cares. The Interior's poisoned and suddenly worth billions. Nobody cares?"

When the new season of True Detective kicks off June 21, Rachel McAdams will be playing one of the leads. But don't expect her character to have much in common with the types she plays in movies – or, for that matter, with female characters in the first season of the show.
"I love that she's not the girlfriend or the wife," McAdams, 36, says in the June issue of Marie Claire about her character, a Ventura, California, police officer named Ani Bezzerides. "She doesn't really care what everyone thinks; she feels no responsibility for other people's feelings. She's not trying to be charming, which isn't always the case with a leading lady."
