On Jan. 16, Rachel Weisz got lucky during her "fairytale time" – that is, being all dressed up and winning at the Golden Globes, where she took the prize for her role in The Constant Gardener as the activist wife of a British diplomat (Ralph Fiennes) posted to Kenya. Offscreen, the 34-year-old Brit's life is a bit of a fairytale itself: She's engaged to director Darren Aronofsky and expecting their first child. PEOPLE recently chatted with Weisz about getting glam and taking her character's activism to heart.

Who Will Rule the Emmys Red Carpet?
Originally posted 09/16/2004 06:00AM
Emmys night is Sunday, and though it's all about TV shows and awards, we're on the edge of our collective seat about – what else? – who's going to be wearing what. So we checked in with a fellow fashion junkie, celeb stylist and Extreme Makeover star Sam Saboura (who will be part of the pre-show Emmys red carpet festivities on ABC), to get his predictions for TV's big night. Favorites Sarah Jessica Parker: "She always looks amazing. She's been wearing Oscar de la Renta a lot, but she will probably go to Chanel for the Emmys." 24's Kiefer Sutherland: "Always one of the best dressed," he's likely to show up in a trendy velvet jacket. Jennifer Aniston: "She's a trendsetter and one of the most approachable in terms of the way she dresses." Jessica Simpson: "She always looks put together. She seriously gets it right – and her husband (Nick Lachey) is the perfect piece of arm candy." Ones to Watch The Sopranos' Edie Falco: "She's breathtaking. She has undergone the awards show makeover of the century." CSI's Marg Helgenberger: "She's either over-the-top amazing or just a bit askew." Angels in America star Mary-Louise Parker: "She made a great statement at the Golden Globes. She dresses so young and sexy and cool – it will be interesting to see what she comes to the plate with." The O.C.'s Mischa Barton: "She takes a lot of risks, and that's good – but maybe the Emmys isn't the best night to take a risk." Anything else? "A lot of the nominees this year, the women, are more mature – Meryl Streep, Julie Andrews – so they'll bring more of a ladylike and sophisticated style to the red carpet, and I'm looking forward to seeing that," says Saboura. On the downside, "Donald Trump's hair will be the biggest fashion faux pas," though "he wins the award for best arm candy for his fiancée" (model Melania Knauss).
