When you are best friends, have gobs of money and a love for the Mexican seaside, there is really only one thing to do: build jaw-dropping adjoining Mexican villas, of course!
Just ask longtime BFFs George Clooney, Rande Gerber and wife Cindy Crawford, who did just that in Los Cabos, on the southern tip of Mexico's Baja peninsula, and are showing off their to-die-for vacation homes in November's Architectural Digest.
The trio named the compound Casamigos – "House of Friends" – and the longtime close pals, who launched a tequila company of the same name, use the structures accordingly.

Sean Penn was in great spirits during a recent outing with pals.
Accompanied by a group of about 10 guys, the Academy Award winner made his way to a Caliche rum-hosted fete thrown by Rande Gerber and his wife Cindy Crawford at Gerber's Malibu, Calif., restaurant Café Habana.
"Sean was in a really happy and social mood," an onlooker tells PEOPLE. "He was getting up from the table often to get more drinks, socialize and smoke cigarettes. There wasn't any specific girl he was paying special attention to. He mainly just stuck to his guy friends."
Penn was having so much fun, in fact, that it didn't seem like he wanted to go.
"He ended up being one of the last ones to leave," the source says. "He was there from about 7:45 a.m. to almost 1:30 a.m."

With his Washington, D.C., arrest behind him, George Clooney enjoyed a getaway in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, with girlfriend Stacy Keibler.
The couple – along with a group of friends, including Rande Gerber – took a private jet down to the hot spot, and spent time at Clooney's oceanfront villa at the private El Dorado Golf & Beach Club.
The actor and his ladylove soaked up some sun by the pool, played golf and shared gourmet dinners with their friends, according to a source. "They looked very happy together," the source continues. "Stacy kept taking pictures, which George happily posed for. They were very affectionate – kissed and hugged nonstop." – Pernilla Cedenheim

A would-be blackmailer accused of targeting Cindy Crawford and husband Rande Gerber in an unsuccessful extortion plot has been sentenced by a German court to two years behind bars.
Edis Kayalar, 26, was convicted of threatening to sell what he called a "sexy" photo of the couple's then-7-year-old daughter tied to a chair with a gag in her mouth. The child apparently was playing when the photo was taken, according to authorities.
In a statement Wednesday, Crawford and Gerber said, "We want to express our gratitude to the FBI, the U.S. District Attorney's Office in Los Angeles and the German law-enforcement authorities for their coordination and efforts in this case."

Cindy Crawford and her entrepreneur husband Rande Gerber were the victims of a $100,000 extortion scheme involving a photograph of their 7-year-old daughter purportedly taken by the couple's former nanny, according to court papers filed Thursday by the FBI and the U.S. attorney's office.
The photo shows the child "in revealing clothing, bound to a chair and gagged," say the documents filed in U.S. District Court, reports Los Angeles TV station KTLA.
According to an affidavit in the case, the child informed the Gerbers that the nanny took the photo as part of a "cops and robbers" game. Annett Wolf, a rep for the former supermodel, issued a statement saying the photo was taken without Crawford's knowledge.

George Clooney has taken girlfriend Sarah Larson out on the town a lot lately – even to the Academy Awards. But sometimes, a guy needs a little male bonding.
On Wednesday, the actor made it a guys night out with Rande Gerber, hitting up the night club mogul's hot spot, Stone Rose inside Los Angeles's Sofitel.
Looking debonair in black blazers and black shirts, the guys were recognized right away, an onlooker says. But the famous pals didn't mind the attention. Clooney and Gerber chatted with a steady stream of fans, indulging them in conversation – and never turning a single person away.
Later in the night, the twosome moved to a table by the deejay booth – then continued their good time on the dancefloor before checking out around 1 a.m.
