Reese Witherspoon Shows Off Her Baby Bump at Cannes

She endured a 14-hour flight from Los Angeles, but you'd never know it when a pregnant Reese Witherspoon showed up at the Cannes Film Festival on Saturday in a form-fitting black jersey dress that showed off her bump.
Witherspoon, who also wore dangling diamond earrings and sky-high fuchsia stilettos, flew to Cannes with her husband Jim Toth to promote her new movie, Mud, which premieres Saturday at the festival.
The actress's presence at Cannes while pregnant was all the more surprising given what a small role she has in Mud.
The new film, written and directed by 33-year-old indie darling Jeff Nichols, stars Matthew McConaughey as a fugitive hiding on an island in the Mississippi River. Two teenage boys discover him and try to reunite him with his true love, played by Witherspoon, as bounty hunters close in on him.

Reese Witherspoon went hiking with her father John in Santa Monica, Calif., on Saturday amid her parents' ongoing legal dispute over his second marriage.
The Oscar winner, 36, took her children Ava and Deacon along for what a witness says was a low-key, quiet walk together.
It has been a difficult time for the Witherspoon family, with Reese's mother Betty suing John in Tennessee, alleging that he married another woman while still married to her – though they've been separated since 1996. Betty alleged in an affidavit that John has problems with alcohol and may have early-onset dementia.

Back in Los Angeles after a one-week trip to Nashville to support her mother during her marital dispute, Reese Witherspoon is focusing on her children and on staying healthy.
After picking up Ava, 12, and Deacon, 8, from school, Witherspoon took a tennis lesson at the private Brentwood Country Club along with three close girlfriends.
"Reese was in a good mood," says an onlooker. "She was laughing with her girlfriends. They were all on the same side of the court and had tennis balls served at them by a trainer. It just seemed like a casual and relaxing practice game."
And the onlooker adds of the pregnant actress: "Reese's baby bump is getting bigger, and she looked very cute."
With regard to Witherspoon's fitness, the source says that she does still work out with a trainer at her house and they do strength training together. She has also been spotted hiking several times a week, and going for slow jogs around the Brentwood Country Club.

Reese Witherspoon Attends Hearing in Parents' Marital Dispute

Reese Witherspoon appeared in court Friday in Nashville with her dueling parents for an emergency closed-door hearing.
The actress's mother, Betty Witherspoon, has filed papers claiming her husband of 42 years – Reese's dad – tied the knot with another woman while still married to Betty.
The hearing before Probate Judge Randy Kennedy was closed to the public, but Kennedy typically handles cases involving conservatorship and determining mental capacity, The Tennesseean reports.

Reese Witherspoon's mother has launched a legal action against the actress's father in Tennessee, with Mary Elizabeth Witherspoon seeking to annul John Witherspoon's new marriage on the grounds he's still her husband.
John, 70, described as a Nashville-based physician, married a woman named Tricianne Taylor, 60, in January, according to a certificate of marriage attached to the legal papers.
The actress's mother, who goes by the first name Betty, filed a petition for annulment, saying, "No person in Tennessee can marry another while being married at the same time of the second marriage."

Jewel Will Play June Carter Cash in TV Movie

Talk about big shoes to fill.
In an upcoming Lifetime movie, Jewel will portray country legend June Carter Cash, CBS and the Associated Press report. The role of Cash won Reese Witherspoon an Oscar for her performance in 2005's Walk the Line.
Based on the book Anchored in Love, which John Carter Cash wrote about his mother, the movie will begin filming this summer in Atlanta and is scheduled to premiere later this year.
Matt Ross, who portrays Charles Montgomery on American Horror Story, will play Johnny Cash opposite the Grammy-winning Jewel.

Skipping the parties preceding the White House Correspondents' Dinner, Reese Witherspoon and hubby Jim Toth opted instead for a double date with some famous pals!
Joined by Kate Hudson and fiancé Matt Bellamy, along with Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover model Kate Upton and a talent agent, the party of six dined at Café Milano in Georgetown on Friday night for three hours.
"They seemed to be having lots of fun," an onlooker tells PEOPLE, adding that Witherspoon laughed throughout the meal and appeared to be in great spirits, while displaying her baby bump in a black dress.
On the menu for the pregnant actress? Fresh baby artichoke, salad in a lemon vinaigrette and spinach fettuccine with veal Bolognese sauce.

The carpet will be red hot – with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson,Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves, Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth, and new parents Emma Heming and Bruce Willis, turning this year's Cannes Film Festival into a two-week A-lister date night.
Add in Zac Efron, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban – and the possibility of a Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith sighting – and you might forget they also show movies at the world's most glamorous film event.
The 65th Cannes fest, which will run from May 16 to 27, formally announced its schedule in Paris on Thursday, and organizers haven't stinted on star power.

No longer covering up her growing bump with loose-fitting frocks, Reese Witherspoon gave us a glimpse at her baby belly in a form-fitting grey dress while making the rounds in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
Witherspoon, 36, topped off the comfortable ruched dress with necklaces of turquoise beads and gold links, gold earrings, a light-brown leather purse, and, as usual when she's out and about, a pair of sunglasses.
The new addition, her first with husband Jim Toth, will join her kids Ava, 12, and Deacon, 8½, in enjoying the family's down-to-earth lifestyle.
