Rihanna Debuts Her New Single

Rihanna told everyone recently that the wait is "ova", and Tuesday, it finally was.
She debuted Russian Roulette, the first single from her hotly anticipated album, Rated R, on Ryan Seacrest's show.

The soaring ballad follows a woman on the verge of taking a turn at the suicide game: You can see it thorugh my chest/That I'm terrified/But I'm not leaving/I know that I must pass this test/So just pull the trigger.

Abuse Victim Robin Givens Says Rihanna Should 'Take Her Time'

Robin Givens was a rising star in the 1980s when her famous husband, Mike Tyson, abused her. So she can relate to what Rihanna is going through now.
"It is so difficult to balance celebrity, being young and having this huge responsibility," Givens, 44, told PEOPLE Thursday at Marshall's "Shop Til It Stops" event in New York City's Union Square to kick off Domestic Violence Awareness Month. "I was a baby. So I understand the pressure that Rihanna feels to speak out, especially when that camera is on you.”
Givens says Rihanna – who hasn't publicly commented on her abuse by singer Chris Brown – will find her way. "You do need time to figure your life out," Givens says. "I do feel that if she speaks out about it people will listen to her. But she is young and I can imagine the pain and the confusion she is going through."

Chris Brown Begins Community Labor Sentence

The State of Virginia isn't horsing around when it comes to Chris Brown's debt to society for his assault on Rihanna.
Brown, 20, wearing a reflective vest and a red cap, was seen cleaning the grounds in and around a Virginia police horse stable Wednesday, part of his six-month community labor sentence.
The singer, who has repeatedly apologized for his crime, Tweeted Wednesday: "On my way to community service."

Officers Put on Leave in Rihanna Photo Leak

Two LAPD officers have been placed on paid administrative leave in the ongoing police investigation into who leaked Rihanna's injury photo.
Officer Rebecca Reyes, a nine-year employee of the department, is under investigation for both criminal and administrative issues, her lawyer Ira Salzman confirms to PEOPLE.
Salzman adds that search warrants were executed on Reyes's home in late June, and her computer and cell phone records have been seized. "But my client did not sell any photos for profit," Salzman says. "She did not commit any criminal act."

Chris Brown's Mom: Rihanna Was 'Family'

Immediately after his late-night fight with Rihanna over Grammy weekend, Chris Brown knew what he had to do: Tell his mother.
"I went to my mom and I was upset," says Brown, who was raised by his mother, Joyce Hawkins, in the small town of Tappahannock, Va., where they both still live a few doors down from each other. "I told my mom what happened and just broke down. I was disappointed in myself and I felt like I had let my mom down."
For Hawkins, herself a victim of domestic abuse, Brown's confessional still haunts her. "It was the most painful moment in my life to hear him tell me that," she tells PEOPLE. "I just sighed and was like, 'What in the world happened?' And you know he started talking, but I could see the pain in his face and how hurt he was while he was trying to tell me. It wasn't easy for him to do."

It's been six months since the Grammy weekend when Chris Brown and Rihanna got into a late-night fight that left Rihanna bruised and bloodied and her R&B star boyfriend surrendering to Los Angeles police.
Since then, Brown, 20, has pleaded guilty to felony assault and was sentenced last week to five years' probation.
And now, he is ready to speak: On Aug. 26, the musician sat down with PEOPLE for his first interview and – as his mother Joyce Hawkins, a victim of domestic abuse herself, sat nearby – opened up about his shame over that "terrible" night, his enduring love for Rihanna and why he swears he'll never hit a woman again.

Chris Brown Goes Clubbing After Court Hearing

Chris Brown went from courthouse to club on Tuesday, dropping by a popular L.A. lounge just a few hours after the singer was sentenced to probation and community labor for assaulting Rihanna.
The 20-year-old singer enjoyed a night out with a group of friends and bodyguards at Guys & Dolls, where he stood up on a booth and got the crowd excited as he danced along to Michael Jackson's Dirty Diana, a source tells PEOPLE.
"He didn't seem to care at all that everyone was watching him," says the source. "He was in a totally good mood, just hanging out with his buddies. Then all of a sudden he decided to put on a little show. Everyone went wild."

Chris Brown and Rihanna Had a History of Violence

Rihanna and Chris Brown had two previous violent episodes before the Feb. 8 fight, which ultimately led to Brown's arrest and felony conviction, court documents reveal.
The "Umbrella" singer allegedly slapped Brown in a heated argument three months prior to the February incident, according to Brown's probation review released Tuesday.
In that previous fight, which occurred in Europe, Brown responded by pushing Rihanna into a wall, the documents say. The couple "were involved in a verbal dispute and [she] slapped [him]." Brown "responded by shoving her into a wall."
A second fight occurred about three weeks prior to the Feb. 8 incident.

Chris Brown Ordered Not to Contact Rihanna for 5 Years

Chris Brown will spend 1,400 hours removing graffiti and washing cars for assaulting Rihanna.
Brown, 20, was formally sentenced in a Los Angeles courtroom Tuesday to six months of community labor in Virginia after he pleaded guilty in June to one count of felony assault against Rihanna, 21.
Brown's six-month labor sentence will be supervised by the chief of police in Richmond, Va., who wrote to the judge that Brown would perform graffiti removal, cleaning and maintaining grounds, and washing cars. "Brown's labor hours will be flexible to accommodate his entertainment career," according to DA spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons.
The singer, who looked solemn and wore a black pinstripe suit and matching tie, was also sentenced to five years of probation, a year of domestic violence classes, and was ordered to pay fines. He was accompanied in the courtroom by his mother and at least one bodyguard.
As part of his plea bargain with prosecutors, a second felony charge of making criminal threats was dropped. Rihanna was not present for the hearing.
