With two films set to be screened at Cannes this year, it's safe to say Robert Pattinson has officially left his sparkly vampire past far behind him.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart could end up in very close proximity next month.
The exes are among the scores of stars slated to attend the famed Cannes Film Festival, which runs from May 14 to 25 and revealed its lineup in a press conference Thursday.
Pattinson, 27, has two films in contention: The Rover, a gritty drama set in a near-future Australia, and Maps to the Stars, a Hollywood-skewering drama costarring Julianne Moore and John Cusack. Stewart, 24, will be seen in the drama Clouds of Sils Maria with Juliette Binoche.

If so, you're going through Twilight withdrawal. For the first time in five years, there is no new Twilight film debuting just in time for the holidays. That's right, the first Twilight, which introduced us to Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and the word "spider monkey" as a term of endearment, premiered five years ago on November 21, 2008.
Much has happened in the half a decade since, including the rise and fall of Robsten's off-screen romance, and the adaptation of The Hunger Games novels, effectively changing the debate from Edward vs. Jacob to Peeta vs. Gale.
