What VMAs drama?
Robin Thicke and wife Paula Patton looked worry-free while indulging in a date night this week at Hakkasan inside Miami Beach's Fontainebleau hotel.
The pair – vacationing at the Florida hot spot with 3-year-old son Julian – took a break from the beach, sitting back and splitting a dim sum platter, sesame prawn toast and lobster and Chinese chive soup, plus a bottle of sake.
"They seemed to be really enjoying themselves and having a great time, and were definitely affectionate with each other," a witness tells PEOPLE, adding that the stars "were extremely nice to everyone."

So, what was she thinking?
In her first video interview since her notorious twerking routine at MTV's Video Music Awards on Aug. 25, Miley Cyrus says she wanted to do something people would talk about – not just for days but for years to come.
"Me and Robin [Thicke] the whole time said, 'You know we're about to make history right now,' " Cyrus, 20, says in a video clip recorded last week and obtained by MTV.

Robin Thicke, who famously grinded with Miley Cyrus at the MTV Video Music Awards, gets plenty salacious in his new "Give It 2 U" video as well. But the clip also features a more innocent dancer – his adorable 3-year-old son Julian.
Thicke, 36, goes shirtless in the new video, which features lots of twerking by female dancers along with a foam finger – all reminiscent of his polarizing performance with Cyrus, 20, on Sunday.
But Julian – Robin's son with wife Paula Patton – adds a welcome dose of cuteness by showing off his own dance moves in a little black suit, gold chains and a puffy blonde hairdo.

Miley Cyrus has at least one supporter this week, and he's no stranger to controversy himself.
"Listen if it wasn't ur cup of tea – all good but why is everyone spazzing? Hey – she's doin something right. We all talkin," Adam Lambert wrote Monday on Twitter.
He stopped short, though, of saying he actually enjoyed the 20-year-old pop star's twerking routine with Robin Thicke.

Who knew Robin Thicke could twerk?
The singer joined forces with Miley Cyrus – with a special cameo from several dancers dressed as bears – at Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards to perform a medley of their summer jams.
Cyrus and said bears kicked off the performance with her hit, "We Can't Stop," which she twerked through until Thicke took the Barclays Center stage in a referee costume.

Like father like son? It sure seems that way to Paula Patton.
The 2 Guns star tells PEOPLE that little Julian Fuego, her 3-year-old son with Robin Thicke, is following in the singer's footsteps.
"He's an extrovert and he wants to be just like Daddy," she says. "He sings and makes up his own songs. He's got a song called 'Pop Song.' It's all choruses. He certainly got the gift from Daddy."

"Blurred Lines" is the song of the summer, and Robin Thicke's sexy video has been parodied by everyone from Jimmy Kimmel to a pack of dogs. Thursday, the singer took his hit in a new direction when he teamed with Jimmy Fallon and the Roots on Late Night.
They performed it using classroom instruments – and it was awesome. With new dad Fallon, 38, on a wooden block and Casio keyboard and Thicke, 36, on spoons, the group rocked it out. The Roots accompanied the pair on kids' noisemakers including a kazoo, xylophone, recorder, maracas, ukulele and cowbell.

Alan Thicke has plenty of reasons to be channeling his inner Jason Seaver. As the proud father of crooner Robin Thicke whose latest single, "Blurred Lines", has established itself as the song of the summer, the 66-year-old actor is reveling in his son's success.
"I've related to it, and understood it, and was able to feel it, up until only the last couple of weeks," the elder Thicke tells PEOPLE while attending the 15th Annual DesignCare event benefiting The HollyRod Foundation.
"He has now projected himself into a stratosphere, into another level, having raised the bar, the family brand, to unimaginable heights."
