Tennis player Andy Murray won Olympic gold (and revenge!) Sunday when he unseated world champion, Roger Federer, who beat him at Wimbledon last month.
After four losses (three to Federer) in the Grand Slam finals, Murray surprised spectators when he defeated Federer 6-2, 6-1, 6-4 to win the men's single finals at the Summer Games.
"The atmosphere was unbelievable," Murray, who is Scottish, said of the crown in London. "They helped me get a few extra miles an hour on the last couple of serves, that's for sure. The adrenaline was pumping. I went for some big serves and got them. To be fair the whole week they've been amazing."
Federer won the silver medal for Switzerland while Juan Martin del Potro of Argentina was awarded bronze.

It was something of a sister act for the Duchess of Cambridge on Sunday at Wimbledon: She had Pippa by her side when she cheered on Brit Andy Murray at the men's final.
Big tennis fans (and players), Kate, 30, and Pippa, 28, clapped enthusiastically as Murray took the early lead against Roger Federer, and they were seen sharing a giggle in the royal box above Centre Court.
In the end, though, Federer bested Murray and took home his seventh Wimbledon title, and the sisters stood as Murray gave an emotional speech after his defeat.

It's a love match for Prince William and Kate, who looked happy and relaxed sitting together courtside Wednesday at Wimbledon.
Kate – donning the Alexander McQueen sailor-style outfit she wore one year ago during their visit to Charlottetown, Canada – and her husband watched from the royal box as Switzerland's Roger Federer beat Russia's Mikhail Youzhny in straight sets on the famous Centre Court.

Tiger Woods's pal Roger Federer has spoken to the elusive golfer and believes his scandal-plagued friend will soon return to the sport.
Federer predicts in an interview with French sports paper L'Equipe published Friday that Woods will make a comeback "as the wonderful golfer we know."
Federer also says he told Woods he'll support him. "The tabloids are going crazy, sponsor contracts are falling apart," Federer says. "I've always been aware that the image you patiently construct for an entire career can be ruined in a minute. It scares you a bit, but that's the way things are."
He adds that Woods's November car accident and subsequent stories about extramarital affairs have been rough on the golfer.

Roger Federer may be the world's top tennis champion, but when it comes to changing diapers as a first-time dad, he says he is still capable of a double fault.
"Thank God nobody is judging me on it," Federer told PEOPLE at a press conference Monday following his victory over Spain's Tommy Robredo at the U.S. Open in New York. "It's hard! But I'm still trying to be good at it."

When news broke that Roger Federer and wife Mirka had welcomed identical twin daughters Myla Rose and Charlene Riva on July 23, it caught many off guard.
Acting on medical advice, the couple initially chose not to disclose that the pregnancy involved more than one baby, and Federer tells The New York Times he decided to "just play along until the very, very end" after reporters had failed to ask whether twins were, in fact, on the way.
The tennis ace, 28, very nearly spilled the beans, himself, however – and on more than one occasion.
