[BRIGHTCOVE "4005282458001" "" "" "auto"] Will Rosie O'Donnell ever run out of surprises? Don't bet on it.
Her latest: Injecting some of the hard truths about her personal life – such as the difficulty of raising four of her five children now that they are teenagers – into her recently reactivated standup-comedy act, which HBO has filmed for the documentary special Rosie O'Donnell: A Heartfelt Stand Up, premiering Valentine's Day, Feb. 14, at 10 p.m.
"People say, why would you have another baby when you have four teenagers?" The View co-host and actress-activist, 52, tells her audience at Levity Live, a comedy club within a shopping mall in Nyack, New York, the town up the Hudson River where she used to live. (She now calls Saddle Brook, New Jersey, home.)
O'Donnell's response: "Because I have four teenagers, and I needed to remind myself that I actually do love children, because teenagers suck."

As she walked the red carpet on eldest son Parker's arm earlier this week, Rosie O'Donnell was beaming – and looking slimmer than ever after losing more than 50 lbs.

The funny lady takes on the Funny Girl.
In an exclusive video from the new documentary American Masters: The Boomer List, airing Tuesday on PBS (9 p.m. ET), Rosie O'Donnell hilariously channels Barbra Streisand.
"The record my mother loved the most was A Happening in Central Park," says O'Donnell, launching into "Marty the Martian" and "Second Hand Rose" a la Streisand. "She loved I could sort of do the accent."

Rosie O'Donnell made her debut on the new season of The View on Monday on ABC – and also debuted a new, thinner body.
O'Donnell, who once weighed 237 lbs., estimates she's lost 53 lbs. since having vertical gastric sleeve surgery in July 2013, following a heart attack that threatened her life a year earlier.
"I'm not used to it yet," she said of the weight loss. "I still buy the wrong-sized clothes."

The post-Barbara Walters version of The View made its premiere Monday on ABC, using Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off" to greet the new panel: "The haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate… I shake it off, shake it off."
This seems like a rather defensive posture for a show starting its 18th season.
But then again.
Other than new host Rosie Perez talking about how she learned kung fu "just in case I had to kick some ass," the hour didn't go too well. It was stiff, polite and airless, like one of those Taiwanese parody cartoons that "dramatize" news scandals.

They're already doing group hugs on The View.
The talk show released the first official photo of its new hosting panel to PEOPLE in anticipation of its Sept. 15 return to ABC.
Veteran panelist Whoopi Goldberg will be joined by three personalities – the returning Rosie O'Donnell, actress Rosie Perez and former MSNBC analyst Nicolle Wallace – for the show's 18th season debut.
Expect lots of getting-to-know-you talk among the newest fearsome foursome as they prepare for life without Barbara Walters, one of the show's founders in 1997. Walters left the show in May.

As Joan Rivers's funeral on Sunday closed with the sound of bagpipes filling the air on New York's Fifth Avenue, the gathering of specially invited guests spilled out onto the sidewalk outside Temple Emanu-El to listen and reflect.

The co-host chairs are filling up at The View!
Actress Rosie Perez and MSNBC analyst Nicolle Wallace will replace Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy as the new co-hosts of The View. They will join moderator Whoopi Goldberg and Rosie O'Donnell when the daytime talk show returns Monday, Sept. 15.
"I am beyond thrilled, honored and completely surprised that I've been asked to join The View," said Perez in a statement.
