The Velvet Teddy Bear got hitched.
American Idol's season 2 winner Ruben Studdard married Surata Zuri McCants at Canterbury United Methodist Church in his hometown of Birmingham, Ala., Saturday with 20 groomsmen at his side.
Studdard, 29, and McCants, 30, obtained a marriage license at the County Probate Office in Columbiana, Ala., last Monday. "They looked really happy," an eyewitness said.

Ruben Studdard to Have 20 Groomsmen at Wedding

Ruben Studdard is planning a big Southern wedding Saturday with fiancée Surata Zuri McCants – with at least 20 groomsmen at his side, a source tells PEOPLE.
The American Idol second-season champ will marry McCants, 30, at Canterbury United Methodist Church in the tony Mountainbrook neighborhood of Birmingham, Ala., according to the source close to the wedding. A rep for Studdard confirms he's getting married this weekend.
Studdard and his groomsmen will wear black Joseph Abboud tuxedos from local outfitter Mr. Burch Formal Wear, the source says. The groomsmen will wear black shirts with black vests while Studdard will wear a white vest and a white hand-tied bow tie.

Idol Ruben Studdard Obtains Marriage License

Second-season American Idol champ Ruben Studdard obtained a marriage license Monday in Alabama, PEOPLE has learned.
Studdard, 29, arrived at the Shelby County Probate Office in Columbiana, Ala. with fiancée Surata Zuri McCants, 30, just before noon, filled out the paperwork and walked away with their license, an eyewitness says. Studdard is a native of nearby Birmingham.
"They looked really happy," says the eyewitness.

There may be something in the water down in Birmingham. The Alabama city has produced two American Idol winners so far – Taylor Hicks and Ruben Studdard – and as the talent show came to town Monday, would-be stars flocked to auditions with big dreams of their own.

Ruben Studdard has entered the winner's circle again. The 2003 American Idol victor has been awarded $2 million in his lawsuit against the ex-manager he claimed misappropriated more than $246,000 from him.

STUDDARD FALLS ILL: American Idol winner Ruben Studdard was admitted to an Alabama hospital Monday for exhaustion. His new gospel album, I Need an Angel, hit shelves Tuesday, and Studdard, 26, was scheduled to start promoting the disc with concerts in Atlantic City on Nov. 26 and 27. Those shows have been postponed, his rep tells PEOPLE. The beefy star has reportedly packed on the pounds since winning the second season of American Idol. The Soulful singer currently tips the scales at 449 lbs. Idol's second season runner-up Clay Aiken was also knocked off his schedule due to illness. He is expected to be back on the road Nov. 26.
