When most The Biggest Loser contestants are eliminated, they devote themselves solely to their weight loss. But Ruben Studdard is more focused on something else – his career.

"It was difficult leaving," the American Idol winner told reporters after being eliminated from the NBC weight-loss show. "But I had a lot of work waiting on me when I left the ranch. As soon as the next day started, my work started."

The "Sorry for 2004" singer is currently working on a new album with producer David Foster and will be heading out on a Christmas tour with CeCe Winans, Peabo Bryson and Melissa Manchester.

Craig Arrington's life-long battle with obesity began at the age of 10 after he lost his father to a heart attack. But thanks to The Biggest Loser, he is feeling lighter both on the scale and in his heart.

"It felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders," Arrington, told reporters Wednesday of visiting his father's grave after being eliminated from the NBC show. "I really felt for the first time he was proud of me and I couldn't wait for him to see me."

Arrington, 30, arrived at the Biggest Loser ranch with a lot of guilt for having allowed himself to get to 385 lbs., but after being saved by his trainer Jillian Michaels when he was eliminated the first week, the warehouse supervisor began to find the inner-strength needed to be successful on his weight-loss journey.

This week started out particularly fun because we had Sam Kass, the executive director of First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move! initiative and senior policy advisor on nutrition, on the Biggest Loser set to talk with the contestants about nutrition and to lead them in a cooking challenge. I could not love Sam more. He's so passionate about nutrition and about combatting childhood obesity.

Hey, everyone! I've missed chatting with you every week. It's been a blast shooting season 15 of The Biggest Loser, and I'm so glad we can all get together here to discuss it after each episode airs.

What did you think of Tuesday's season premiere? It was a big change-up, having the trainers part of the casting process, right?! I can tell you, I'm glad that wasn't my decision to make. It must have been so hard to choose the best 15 out of all the heartbreaking stories they heard of people searching for a life transformation. And I know they had so much to consider in their decisions.

Ruben Studdard wore his 205 area code jerseys with pride in front of millions of viewers on American Idol, but now, as a contestant on The Biggest Loser, the Alabama native is wearing a different number on his chest – his starting weight of 462 lbs.

Studdard and his fellow contestants on the upcoming season of NBC weight-loss competition will each wear their starting weights on their jerseys for all the world to see.

Just days after arriving at The Biggest Loser Ranch in June, the American Idol season 2 winner – who has a history yo-yo dieting (and had lost 100 lbs. in 2008) – spoke to PEOPLE about how splitting with his wife, Surata, triggered his recent weight gain, what life has been like for him on the Ranch, and why now, at 35, he is ready to get fit for good.

Ruben Studdard has already won the title of American Idol. Now he may become The Biggest Loser.

The "Velvet Teddy Bear," who won season 2 of the Fox singing competition in 2003, will compete on the NBC weight loss show as he attempts to battle his obesity – a task he has attempted previously with limited success.

"I was losing weight, but I was exhausted. It was making me sick," the 35-year-old told PEOPLE in 2006 after attempting an intense workout regimen on about 1,200 calories a day with trainer Gunnar Peterson. "I'm a big man. There was no way to do those workouts on that amount of food, so everything was contradicting itself."
