Sure, making movies is exciting and all, but Blake Lively has found an even more invigorating passion project ever since marrying former Sexiest Man Alive Ryan Reynolds last September – transforming their upstate New York house into a home.
"Work is important, but my greatest passion is my personal life," she tells Lucky for its September cover story, on newsstands Aug. 6. "With film and TV, you don't see the results for months. Building a home, you get immediate gratification."
Lively, 25, has taken a pause from acting at the moment, and happily swapped trips to the set with trips to Home Depot as she and Reynolds feather their nest in quaint Bedford, N.Y.

Is Six Degrees of Ken Jeong about to take off as the new Hollywood parlor game?
The Hangover's breakout star has worked with his share of PEOPLE's Sexiest Men Alive – paging Ryan Reynolds and Bradley Cooper – and the actor says he's not far from becoming his own version of the game Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, in which players attempt to link Bacon to every other actor on planet earth.
"I may have possibly, yes, worked with some of the Sexiest Men Alive. I might be the Kevin Bacon of Sexiest Men," Jeong said jokingly to PEOPLE at Tuesday night's premiere of his new animated 3D movie Turbo, starring Reynolds. (It opens nationally July 17.)
"I've got, like, different degrees of Sexiest Man [in my life]."
But out of the two men, Reynolds and Cooper (who starred with Jeong in all three Hangover movies), who would Jeong say really owns the crown?

"I don't mind an occasional check-in, but when somebody is passive-aggressively jealous, it's really unattractive because it shows a sort of insecurity. ... Oh, controlling behavior is awful. Nobody's going to say they love that."
