Sylvester Stallone's Son Died of Heart Disease
Originally posted 08/30/2012 07:55PM
Heart disease, not drugs, was the major cause of Sage Stallone's untimely death earlier this summer at age 36, the Los Angeles County coroner announced Thursday.
After conducting an autopsy as well as a full toxicology screen, the coroner cited atherosclerotic coronary artery disease as the cause of death, and said that the drug test was negative except for a small, "sub-therapeutic" level of hydrocodone, more commonly known as Vicodin.
The department's full report is expected next week.

Sage & Sly Stallone's Rocky Relationship: The Inside Story
Originally posted 07/31/2012 08:00AM
In 1976, Sylvester Stallone proudly brought the world both his biggest movie character and his first-born son.
Problem was, Sage Stallone found it hard to reconcile himself with his father's most enduring creation, Rocky Balboa.
Since Sage's untimely July 13 death of unknown causes his friends have come forward to claim that the 36-year-old had a prescription drug problem – and a complicated relationship with his famous father.
The friends say Sage appreciated that his father was a hugely successful moviemaker who gave him a house in the Hollywood Hills and enough money that he didn't have to work. But Sage – who chain-smoked and seemed to subsist on little more than Doritos and Mountain Dew – didn't like the ageless, muscle-bound action heroes embodied by Sylvester Stallone.

Originally posted 07/17/2012 06:00PM
Life was not easy for Sage Moonblood Stallone, particularly as a child, when he had little connection with his busy Hollywood superstar father.
"I was an easygoing guy, and school was pretty much people trying to challenge me to a fight, y'know, saying, 'Rambo! Rocky!' " Sage, who died unexpectedly last week at age 36, told PEOPLE in 1996, when he was 20.
It galled him because his father, Sylvester Stallone, who had become famous playing a fictional boxer, wasn't often in his son's corner due to his demanding career. So, when Sage got the chance to play opposite his dad as Rocky Balboa Jr. in 1990's Rocky V, it was a painful as well as cathartic experience.
