Linda Evangelista Settles Child-Support Case
Originally posted 05/07/2012 03:15PM
With Linda Evangelista about to take the stand Monday for the second day, lawyers reached a settlement in the nasty child-support case between the supermodel and French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault, who's now married to Salma Hayek.
The terms of the surprise deal were not immediately known, according to the New York Post, which first reported the settlement. Outside the courthouse Monday, Francois-Henri Pinault's lawyer, David Aronson told reporters, "Everybody's glad for the sake and the benefit of the child that it's done."
A rep for Evangelista had no comment. After court Evangelista and Pinault, who had barely made eye contact during the trial, were seen talking to each other.

And the claims are flying.
The lawyer for supermodel Linda Evangelista, who is seeking $46,000 in monthly child-support payments for her 5-year-old son Augie with French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault, reportedly asserted in a Manhattan family courtroom Thursday that Pinault "suggested she terminate the pregnancy."
Speaking in court, Pinault – since 2009 the husband of Salma Hayek – said he was "not involved in the decision" to have the child, but assured Evangelista he would "recognize the baby," reports New York's Daily News.
His lawyer later denied the claim that Pinault suggested the pregnancy be terminated.

Puss in Boots Is Fun Fur All: PEOPLE Review

It's no easy trick giving a minor character a story substantial enough to warrant its own film (see: Cars 2: The Master Mistake).
But the Shrek spinoff Puss in Boots lands solidly by dosing a proven formula with new flavor.
Puss (Antonio Banderas) gets a lead on a legendary treasure: the goose that lays golden eggs atop Jack's beanstalk.
To get it, he'll need to team up with his shifty boyhood buddy Humpty Dumpty (Zach Galifianakis) and the bad egg's sidekick Kitty Softpaws (Salma Hayek).

So nice, they did it twice!
While visiting the Miami Seaquarium Saturday, Salma Hayek and daughter Valentina Pinault, 4, got up close and personal with a pair of dolphins.
As a trainer looked on, Hayek went barefoot and scrunched down so she could be closer to the tank, while a more reserved – but excited – Valentina stayed standing a few feet away.

Salma Hayek: 'I'm Nobody's Barbie'

Just because Salma Hayek is married to a powerful businessman doesn't mean she's given up her independence.
"I work hard, I make my own living and I love it. I like having financial independence," Hayek says in the November issue of Redbook. "I don't ever want to have to depend on anyone completely. But when I have troubles sometimes, it's nice to have someone there to help."
Luckily, Hayek can rely on her husband, French billionaire François-Henri Pinault, if need be. Has being married to the CEO of luxury goods firm PPR (which owns Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent) influenced her style?
"I like to play fashion with him, but I'm nobody's Barbie," Hayek, 45, says.

Salma Hayek on Plastic Surgery: 'It's Not Beautiful'
Originally posted 08/17/2011 04:30PM
Salma Hayek understands the desire to stop the aging process, but she says beauty, as you get older, is something to be brought out and enhanced, not manufactured by a doctor.
"I believe that every woman is entitled to fight to preserve her youth," the actress, 44, tells Allure in its September issue, on newsstands Aug. 23.
Just not through plastic surgery. "It's like the uniform of a generation," she says. "And it's not necessarily beautiful. It's not wrinkled-looking, but it's not beautiful."
