They called their recent split amicable, and it certainly seems that way.
Kate Winslet and her estranged husband Sam Mendes looked casual and relaxed leaving a building in New York City on Tuesday morning with kids Mia and Joe. Mia, 9, is Winslet's daughter from her previous marriage to Jim Threapleton. Joe, 6, is Winslet and Mendes' son.
Winslet took Joe to the movies in NYC on Monday, carrying him on her hip for most of the trek to the theater.
The actress, 34, and director, 44, both Oscar winners, separated this year after seven years of marriage.

Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes 'Just Grew Apart'

So far, there's no finger-pointing or fiery accusations marking the end of the nearly seven-year marriage between Kate Winslet and director Sam Mendes: In fact, a source tells PEOPLE the couple "just grew apart."
Winslet stuck with the relationship for a while for the children, but Mendes's tendency to be a workaholic is one of the reasons the couple split, says the source. They separated in January, but decided to keep it quiet until after the Oscars.
Winslet, 34, and Mendes, 44, who have a 6-year-old son, Joe, are no longer living together, but the source says that Mendes is still living in the same Manhattan apartment building. (Winslet also has a daughter, Mia, 9, from her first marriage to British director Jim Threapleton).

Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes: What Went Wrong?

As news broke of Kate Winslet and Sam
Mendes's amicable split Monday, the couple was thousands of miles apart.
The distance underscored what the pair said Monday through their lawyers – "that they separated earlier this year." The Oscar-winning actress was with friends and her children in Mexico (where the U.K newspaper The Sun pictured her recreating the arms-out Titanic pose on an inflatable dinghy). Mendes, 44, was reportedly with friends in New England.
They were seen in public together at the Wimbledon tennis tournament in the summer of 2009. Then last week, he was back in England visiting the National Theatre where he was in the audience of London Assurance, a source confirms.
Winslet was noticeably solo at this year's series of award ceremonies, including the BAFTAs in London and the Oscars in L.A. Her red carpet appearances were in stark contrast to the previous award season when the couple was ubiquitous on the red carpets and, she, on the winners' podiums.

In her new movie Away We Go, Maya Rudolph wears a fake tummy bump to act out the anxieties of being pregnant.
But life imitated art Monday night as she walked the red carpet at the movie's Manhattan premiere, where Rudolph, 36, wore a flowing Yigal Azrouël dress with a thin belt that accentuated her very real bump. Due "around November," according to her rep, Rudolph told PEOPLE that getting decked out for a red carpet these days is "not fun."
"I do my best. This is super dressed up," she said. Indicating her gown, she asked, "Isn't it beautiful?"
