Sandra Bullock: Mom Was the Life of the Party

While she was growing up, Sandra Bullock's house was a party spot – thanks to the actress's late mother, Helga, who loved to play hostess.
"People came to my parents' parties because they were going to have fun and, if lucky, our mother would belly dance," Bullock tells PEOPLE. "What they didn't know was that the hostess made sure every morsel placed in front of them was pure and without anything artificial no matter what the cost."
Now Bullock, 45, and her sister, Gesine Bullock-Prado, 39, carry on their mother's tradition for healthful cooking and entertaining – well, minus the belly dancing.

Ryan Reynolds Reveals Sandra Bullock 'Looks Terrific Naked'

What are some things about Sandra Bullock you wouldn't know just by looking at her? "She's a catalog of old hip-hop tunes – it's incredible," reveals her Proposal costar Ryan Reynolds. "And she looks terrific naked."
The longtime pals – they even vacation together with spouses Jesse James, 40, and Scarlett Johansson, 24 – let it all hang out in the romantic comedy, out June 19, in which they play a boss from hell and her long-suffering assistant whose relationship changes when she schemes to avoid deportation to her native Canada. Bullock, 44, and Reynolds, 32, sat down with PEOPLE to laugh about the movie, each other and about baring it all.

Betty White and Jesse James Have Flirt-Fest On Set

Is Betty White the latest cougar?
"Every time he came around, it was like flirt-fest," Sandra Bullock joked about the rapport between her husband, Jesse James, 40, and White, 87, who costars in The Proposal, out June 19.
"There was a little something going on with [Betty] and Jesse. There was a little eyeing, a little touching," Bullock told reporters while promoting the movie last weekend in L.A.
White countered quickly: "Very little touching, very little touching."
Speaking with PEOPLE, White explained, "Jesse came to see [Sandra] a couple of times. He's interesting. I don't think there is a square quarter inch on him that isn't tattooed. And I love it."

Ryan Reynolds: The Truth About Nude Scenes

Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock let it all hang out in their new movie, The Proposal – literally.
The pair, who play co-workers pretending to be an engaged couple, found themselves filming completely in the buff during a rollicking nude sequence, which started out "awkward," but ended up just being business as usual, according to Reynolds.
"Filming a scene that involves being entirely naked and takes a couple days can be a little awkward," the actor, 32, tells PEOPLE. "Thankfully you're there for so long and you're doing it for so long that you dispense with the awkwardness pretty quickly and start to have mundane, normal conversations – the difference being you're not wearing pants."

Jesse James Took Sandra Bullock by Surprise

Sandra Bullock admits that her choice of a mate, husband Jesse James, might have caught people off-guard. It certainly caught her that way.
"I took my godson to visit his company, West Coast Choppers," the Long Beach, Calif. Custom-bike shop owned by James, Bullock, 44, tells Glamour for its July issue. As for what she expected to find inside, "I had an image of an obese guy with a handlebar mustache."
By her own admission, too, it took her some time to get used to dating him.

Sandra Bullock recently raved to Harper's Bazaar that her husband loves to dote on her. "I've had to learn a hard lesson in that I'm not allowed to open car doors anymore," Bullock, 44, said. "[Husband] Jesse [James] was like, 'Just let me do this.'"
And they say chivalry is dead!
PEOPLE.com recently sat down with James, whose new show Jesse James Is a Dead Man premieres on Spike May 31, and got his take on being a gentleman. (Watch above)

What do you get when you cross America's Sweetheart with a TV legend? If you're Ryan Reynolds, you get a lot of disrespect – and several profanity-laced tirades.
In the latest offering from funnyordie.com, Reynolds must deal with the wrath of Sandra Bullock and Betty White behind the scenes of their new film, The Proposal.
The trouble starts when White asks Reynolds for a cup of coffee. When he reminds her that he's not her assistant, White replies, "When Betty White says she wants a cup of coffee, you get her a [expletive] cup of coffee, you ab-crunching jackass."

Since marrying Jesse James in 2005, Sandra Bullock says she's had to loosen up and let him dote on her a little.
"I've had to learn a hard lesson in that I'm not allowed to open car doors anymore," Bullock, 44, tells Harper's Bazaar in its June issue. "It was so hard for me to allow someone to take care of me. It's not because I can't take care of myself. But Jesse was like, 'Just let me do this.' "
Another satisfying aspect of married life for the actress, who stars in the new movie The Propsal: Being a stepmom to James' three children, son Jesse Jr., 11, and daughters Chandler, 14, and Sunny, 5 – from two previous marriages.

More than three years into her marriage to Jesse James, Sandra Bullock says she enjoys being a stepmom – though she hasn't ruled out having her own children as well.
"I have family in spades," Bullock, 44, tells InStyle for its March issue. The actress's husband has three children – son Jesse Jr., 11, and daughters Chandler, 14, and Sunny, 5 – from two previous marriages.
"Everything we do is about the kids," she says. I haven't had children biologically. I had shut that off; then I met Jesse, and it turned on again. I was like, 'Oh, that's that feeling.' "

Sandra Bullock and Zac Efron Join Golden Globe Lineup

More stars have been added to an already celeb-studded list of presenters for this year's Golden Globe Awards.
Sandra Bullock, Zac Efron, Gerard Butler, Sean Combs and Pierce Brosnan will present the slightly revamped golden trophies at the award show, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced Thursday.
Actors Chris Pine and Heroes' Zachary Quinto have also been added as presenters.
The new group joins stars like Jake Gyllenhaal, the Jonas Brothers, Jennifer Lopez, Glen Close, Seth Rogen and Hayden Panettiere.
The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards air Sunday on NBC at 8 p.m. – Eunice Oh
