Every Oscar night, the past comes alive through lifetime achievement awards, "in memoriam" segments and other Hollywood retrospectives
But what if the past came alive, literally?
Through the magic of Photoshop, we've sent 10 of 2014's Oscar nominees back in time to chill with their younger selves. Just imagine being a fly on the wall for these meetings! Would the elders impart crucial career advice? Would the youngsters be shocked at the crags and wrinkles they acquired? Or would they all, as actors, see the experience as crucial research for their next role?
See 10 of these pairings below, complete with the conversations we can't help but imagine they're having.

If an EGOT – the elusive combination of Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony that only 11 individuals have ever claimed – is one of Hollywood's highest honors, then it stands to reason that a BEGOT (that's an EGOT plus a BAFTA, and yes we did just make it up) is an even more impressive accomplishment. It's one better, is it not?
By our count, a mere four people have ever completed a BEGOT, and shockingly, only two of them were Brits: Audrey Hepburn, John Gielgud, Mike Nichols and Whoopi Goldberg. Still, nearly every artist in Hollywood should aspire towards a BEGOT (once they hear about it, that is), and Sunday night's BAFTA Film Awards offer a number of artists the chance to check off the next box in the BEGOT checklist.
Below, see the five stars working on their BEGOTs at the 2014 BAFTAs. Only one of them is British, which just goes to show you that the BEGOTs belong to us all, guv'nah.

5. So What's Justin Bieber Doing Now?Not even an arrest can slow down Bieber, who resurfaced in Panama on Saturday, days after he was charged with DUI, driving without a valid driver's license and resisting arrest. He was spotted on the beach with a bikini-clad blonde who is believed to be Chantel Jeffries – the model who was with the singer when his yellow Lamborghini was pulled over by Miami police.

Sandra Bullock praised the imagination, kindness and inspiration of her Gravity director, Alfonso Cuarón, at the 66th Annual Directors Guild of America Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday.
She also teased the heck out of him.
Bullock, 49, joked that her son Louis, 3½, may need therapy for years to come after watching his mom rigged up on set with equipment that made it look like she was adrift in space.
As she spent hours in her astronaut's suit, locked down in a 9-by-9-ft. light box with only an earpiece to hear, Bullock said Cuarón would offer her a little break and comfort after shooting intense scenes by showing her son's face.
