Duchess Sarah Ferguson: Topless Photos of Kate Are 'Devastating'
Originally posted 09/17/2012 07:00AM
From one duchess to another.
Currently embroiled in a photo scandal (but maintaining a brave face), Kate Middleton is on the receiving end of some sympathy from an unexpected supporter: Duchess Sarah Ferguson, who once expressed hurt over her exclusion from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's wedding guest list.
Ferguson, after all, can relate to Kate's situation. It was 20 years ago that she found herself in a similarly unwelcome spotlight, when racy pictures surfaced documenting her topless rendezvous with American businessman John Bryan.
"I have been there and know what it's like," the Duchess of York, 52, told the U.K.'s Daily Mail. "Everyone is entitled to privacy. It is a devastating invasion of one's personal inner space. It is deplorable, abhorrent and despicable."

Princess Beatrice's Hat Fetches $130,000
Originally posted 05/23/2011 07:15AM
The hat that got a million tongues wagging – the pretzel-shaped fascinator atop Princess Beatrice's head on Royal Wedding Day – has been sold to an anonymous bidder.
The price? $130,000, and it's all going to charity.
The 22-year-old daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York, had placed the Philip Treacy creation on eBay, to benefit two charities close to her heart: UNICEF and Children in Crisis, which was established by her mother.
Expressing her delight when the sale ended late Sunday, Beatrice said of the hat: "It has its own personality, and I am so happy that we have raised the most incredible amount of money and can make an even bigger change for the lives of some of the most vulnerable children across the world."

Originally posted 05/21/2011 05:00PM
The last year has not been without challenges for Sarah Ferguson – but she says she's not dwelling on the past.
"I'm looking to the future," Ferguson told PEOPLE at amFAR's annual Cinema Against AIDS gala Thursday night at the Eden Roc Hotel on Cap d'Antibes. "I don't focus on the past because there's nothing I can do to change things. I have so much to be grateful for, especially my daughters."
The amFAR gala represented what may be the start of a comeback for the Duchess of York, 51, who also has a memoir coming out June 28 called Finding Sarah: A Duchess's Journey to Find Herself and a TV show on OWN called Finding Sarah.
