No joking matter?
Sarah Silverman – who has been silent since her split with Jimmy Kimmel last month – briefly addressed the break-up during her stand-up performance Thursday night.
"Did someone tell you I'm going through a hard time?" Silverman, 37, jokingly told an audience of 300 at West Hollywood's Largo at the Coronet. (A few sympathetic cries came from the front of the crowd.)
But the edgy comedienne – who famously called Britney Spears's two sons "adorable mistakes" – quickly moved on and avoided jokes about Kimmel, 40, and relationships in general.

Sarah Silverman's longtime friend Jon Hamm says the comedian is coping as well as can be expected after her recent breakup with Jimmy Kimmel.
"She's doing great," the Emmy-nominated Hamm told PEOPLE at Monday's Hollywood premiere of the second season of his acclaimed AMC series Mad Men. (The series resumes on the cable channel this Sunday, while the DVD set of the first season has just been released.)
But, the actor added, "It's a tough time for everybody ... you know that's never easy when something like that happens."

For Sarah Silverman, this has been a week of good news and bad news.
First, the bad: On Monday, it was reported, she and boyfriend of five years, Jimmy Kimmel broke up.
Now, the good: On Thursday Silverman, 37, was one of those lucky enough to be nominated for an Emmy.
But, now for the weird news: the TV Academy nod is linked to what she did on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live!, an over-the-top music video in which she and the Sexiest Man Alive flaunted their (fictitious and funny) affair to Kimmel, all set to music in a ditty titled, "I'm F------ Matt Damon".

Jimmy Kimmel and Sarah Silverman have ended their relationship after five years of dating.
"Jimmy and Sarah have and will have no further comment," Kimmel's rep Lewis Kay and Silverman's rep Amy Zvi confirmed to PEOPLE in a joint statement.
VanityFair.com first reported the split.
The couple's over-the-top videos about fictional flings with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck became huge Internet hits since airing on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! in February.
PEOPLE even named the late-night talk-show host and the star of Comedy Central's The Sarah Silverman Program its Funniest Couple Alive earlier this year.
At the time Silverman, 37, told PEOPLE their relationship worked "because we really, really, really like each other. He's kind and funny and maybe the most thoughtful person I know."
"Sarah is funny and smart and good to look at," said Kimmel, 40. "Plus, she likes fat guys. What more could I ask?"

Ah, forget Matt Damon. Sarah Silverman's still (bleeping) Jimmy Kimmel.
"I'll be honest, we have it good," Silverman tells PEOPLE of her five-year relationship with the host of Jimmy Kimmel Live!
But don't expect the couple to hit the altar anytime soon.
"I don't want the government involved in our love," says Silverman, 37, who's headlining a show benefiting Project A.L.S. in Manhattan next Friday, May 9. "When my friends get married I think it's romantic, I cry, whatever," she says. "But it's not for me."

Nothing can come between Sarah Silverman and her new "beau" Matt Damon – not even a major milestone in her boyfriend Jimmy Kimmel's career.
To mark the 1,000th episode of ABC's late-night Jimmy Kimmel Live, pseudo-couple Silverman and Damon took out an ad in Daily Variety Thursday, congratulating Kimmel on his success, while also jokingly flaunting their continued affections.
The trade-paper plug is just the latest strike in Kimmel and Damon's ongoing feud. Still no word, however, if Ben Affleck is plotting something equally romantic for his recently outed close friend.

All's fair in love and war, especially as far as Jimmy Kimmel is concerned.
Having had his girlfriend Sarah Silverman reveal to him – and the entire world – that, behind his back, "I'm f---ing Matt Damon" (as she did on the ABC late-night show earlier this month), Kimmel is now set to uncover his surreptitious sleeping partner.
And that would be Ben Affleck, reports the New York Post's Page Six.

"Sometimes you just wanna eat dinner, have fun and play Scrabble. Jimmy and I are addicted to it. We end up playing an extra hour past the time that we say, 'This is ridiculous. We're not gonna be glad we played Scrabble til 3 in the morning.'"

Sarah Silverman may make it a habit to skewer stars like Paris Hilton and Britney Spears – but the comic has some kind words for the hotel heiress, who was grilled by David Letterman on Friday's Late Show.
