Selena Gomez: 'I'll be 30 Before I Get My License!'

Disney Channel star Selena Gomez turned 16 in July. So is she driving yet?
"Nowhere close," she says. "I don't even have my permit yet. It's pretty embarrassing."
While chatting with PEOPLE about the UR Votes Count campaign – which encourages teens to get involved in the political process – the Wizards of Waverly Place star also described her own experience with the government red-tape of the DMV.
"I had to take 19 tests in California! It's the weirdest thing ever. I have to take, like, an online course, and then I have to go take my actual permit test at the DMV. So I will take that Nov. 4, but I don't know. I'm not feeling that confident about it," she laughs. "I'm assuming I'll be 30 before I get my license."

Selena Gomez Says She's 'Getting to Know' Nick Jonas

Selena Gomez is speaking out about her relationship with Nick Jonas – sort of.
The Wizards of Waverly Place actress, who has been rumored to be dating the Jonas Brothers star, addresses the rumors in the upcoming issue of TV Guide.
"I've gotten really close to the entire Jonas family this past year," she tells the magazine. "Nick and I are getting to know each other, but we're not confirming anything."
Gomez, 16, also says that "there's no feud" between her and fellow Disney star Miley Cyrus. The YouTube video that sparked the rumors, "was completely blown out of proportion. That video was ages ago, and it's so irrelevant and not important to everything else going on."

Disney star Selena Gomez is fed up with reports that her song "I'm Sorry" is about her rumored beau Nick Jonas.
"It's definitely not about Nick Jonas," Gomez, 16, told PEOPLE Saturday. "It's about someone back home in Texas. When I read it, I was like, 'Oh no this gossip has to go away!' I haven't known the Jonas Brothers for that long, but I've gotten really close with all of them."

Selena Gomez: 'Being First Lady Would Be Fun'

It'll be another two years before she can enter an election booth, but 16-year-old Selena Gomez is already rocking the vote by promoting the UR Votes Count campaign.
"I am not old enough to vote. But I will be sooner or later, and if I keep pushing the subject away and not trying to learn about it now, I'm not going to know what to do when I am eligible to vote," Gomez said at the recent launch of UR Votes Count in Glendale, Calif.
The Wizards of Waverly Place star says her big political issue is the environment.

She won't confirm rumors that she's dating Nick Jonas, but Selena Gomez has no problem confirming her passion for the Jonas Brothers' new album on YouTube.
The Wizards of Waverly Place star, 16 – alongside her co-star, David Henrie – created a YouTube video encouraging fans to buy the Jonas Brothers' third studio album, A Little Bit Longer, which debuted on Tuesday.
