The final week of The Voice's round 1 battles kicked off Monday showcasing the star power of some of Season 6's teen artists.
Although she's just 17, Bria Kelly once again closed the show with strength far beyond her years, taking on Janis Joplin's "Piece of My Heart" for Team Usher in a closely matched battle with former NFL cheerleader and student Tess Boyer, 21, who surprised the coaches by stepping up her game.
The wholesome Kelly rocked it out hard with a sound that belied her sweet looks, earning praise all around. Usher chose Kelly, but Boyer of Glen Carbon, Ill., caught the eye of Blake Shelton who wasn't about to let her leave the show just yet.

Score one for the birthday boy.
The Voice coach Adam Levine – who turned 35 Tuesday – stole powerful young singer Brittnee Camelle away from Team Usher during the second night of battle rounds after she barely lost an epic battle against teammate Melissa Jimenez.
The two singers delivered a steamy version of Melanie Fiona's "Give It to Me Right" that earned praise for their commanding vocals and sultry stage presence.

The first night of battle rounds on The Voice exposed one thing about the Season 6 coaches. They are quickly looking to be strategic and showed it with their steals.
Blake Shelton went after an old-school soul singer with a trademark high kick, Biff Gore, a father of six, who lost his battle to soulful T.J. Wilkins on Team Usher.
Shakira picked up a Joe Cocker-esque blues man, Patrick Thomson, who fell in a tight contest against Kat Perkins from Team Adam.

Goodbye anonymous singers, hello powerhouse teams.
The Voice concluded the chair-turning blind auditions Tuesday with each coach choosing one final singer to round out their teams of 12 heading into next week's battle rounds.
The coaches came out fighting, beginning with Kaleigh Glanton, 20, a classically trained guitarist from Kansas who earned the only four-chair turn of the night for her intriguing rendition of "Have You Ever Seen the Rain."

The final week of blind auditions on The Voice kicked off strong Monday for Team Blake and Team Adam, as each coach earned four more artists and battled for the night's strongest singers.
It was also an evening of memorable and falsetto-filled soul performances, capped by 38-year-old Josh Kaufman, an academic tutor from Indianapolis, who stunned with his passionate version of George Michael's "One More Try," earning the night's only four-chair turn.
So inspired was the singing, that Adam Levine was standing up and pumping his fist in excitement before the song was even over.

Shakira isn't always the one in charge.
The Voice coach admits that she lets her boyfriend, soccer player Gerard Pique, make some big decisions when it comes to her work.
Take, for example, her raunchy video with Rihanna for "Can't Remember to Forget," which features the pair stroking each other while smoking cigars.
The 37-year-old admits she asked for Pique's permission to do it. "He's very territorial," she reveals in the new issue of Billboard magazine. "Since he no longer lets me do videos with men, well, I have to do them with women."

"If it weren't because of my music projects, I would be pregnant already," she says.

Miranda Lambert apparently has some serious competition.
The Voice coach Blake Shelton – who also happens to be Lambert's husband – scored a big win Tuesday night when he added Philadelphia singer Audra McLaughlin to his team after she performed "Angel from Montgomery" so powerfully Shelton said it rivaled his wife's version of the song.
"Audra is absolutely amazing," a triumphant Shelton said after McLaughlin decided to join Team Blake. "That's one of Miranda's all-time favorite songs. She took it to a place that Miranda doesn't take it."
The 21-year-old closed out the fourth night of blind auditions with the only four-chair turn of the evening, and her decision particularly crushed fellow coach – and Shelton frenemy – Adam Levine.
