Shanna Moakler Fires Back at Carrie Prejean's Lawsuit

As legal battles go, it's sash and burn.
Fallen beauty queen Carrie Prejean sued the Miss California USA pageant and co-executive director Shanna Moakler on Monday alleging religious discrimination, drawing a sharp rebuke from Moakler's camp.
"On Ms. Moakler's behalf, I can say unequivocally that Ms. Prejean's lawsuit is without merit," says Mel Avanzado, Moakler's lawyer.
"More importantly, as everyone who watched or read her public statements is well aware, Ms. Prejean's unfortunate and bigoted statements are responsible for any public humiliation or damages to her reputation that she has claimed to have suffered," Avanzado added. "Ms. Moakler strenuously denies that she did anything wrong and looks forward to proving that in a court of law."

What would Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler be without a little drama?
"We're not together, but we're really good friends," Moakler told PEOPLE about ex-husband Barker while she attended Saturday's White Party, hosted by Diddy and Ashton Kutcher to benefit Malaria No More. "We have a real love for one another, and we always have."
"Travis is leaving for tour, my babies are going with him, so I'm getting all prepared," says Moakler. "We're lucky that Blink [182] tours are very lavish. We each have our own buses. At the venues, we set up kid rooms so the kids can kind of get out of the buses and start running around. We have a runner to take [them] 'round. They're going to be going to Canada, to see the different parts of the States … so it's pretty exciting."

Shanna Moakler Resigns Over Miss California USA Controversy

Shanna Moakler stepped down Wednesday as co-director of the Miss California USA organization, a day after Miss California USA Carrie Prejean was allowed to keep her crown amid a controversy over her topless photos and activism against same-sex marriage.
"I cannot with a clear conscience move forward supporting and promoting the Miss Universe Organization when I no longer believe in it," says Moakler, a former Miss USA, in a statement.
It was a turnaround for Moaker, who on Tuesday offered her support to Prejean, 21, after Donald Trump, co-owner of the Miss Universe organization, allowed her to continue as Miss California USA and Miss USA runner-up.

Shanna Moakler Looks for Fresh Start with Miss California USA

It took some high-level diplomacy by Donald Trump to make it happen, but now Shanna Moakler offers her conditional support for Miss California USA Carrie Prejean following the controversy over the beauty queen's nude photos and statements against same-sex marriage.
"Thanks to Donald Trump, we were able to have a meeting with Miss Prejean and her family alone for the first time since the pageant," Moakler, the co-executive director of the California pageant, tells PEOPLE. "We were able to sit down and communicate and vent our frustrations. I am confident that she will stay true to the contract. I'm looking forward to returning to L.A. and starting fresh."
After the New York meeting, which also included the other California pageant chair, Keith Lewis, The Donald, who co-owns the Miss Universe Organization, announced Tuesday that Prejean will continue to reign as Miss California USA and Miss USA runner-up despite the spate of bad publicity.

Shanna Moakler on Crash: 'I Got the Phone Call You Dread'

"I just got the phone call you dread," Shanna Moakler tells Extra in her first TV interview since ex-husband Travis Barker's Sept. 20 plane crash.
"I actually thought when the phone rang, that it was Travis saying, 'Oh, we landed in L.A. and I'm coming to you babe,'" she says in the interview scheduled to air Friday night.
Moakler reveals that Barker had a bad feeling about the doomed flight before he boarded.
"He had taken pictures of the plane and sent them to me … He had a feeling that something was about to happen," she says.
Of the six people on board, Travis and friend DJ AM (who described the crash in a PEOPLE exclusive) were the sole survivors.

Shanna Moakler 'Is So Devoted' to Travis Barker

Shanna Moakler is sticking by her ex-husband, Travis Barker, as he heads back to Los Angeles after being badly burned in a plane crash just over a week ago.
"She is so devoted to him [and] he appreciates it so much," a source close to the couple tells PEOPLE. "She's sticking by him. She is with him. Despite everything that's happened to them, they love each other."
Barker, 32, was released from the Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Ga., on Monday and is headed back to Los Angels on a bus. He is "going to another hospital in L.A," says the source. "He wants to be home."

Shanna Moakler, who immediately rushed to Augusta, Ga., to be with Travis Barker just hours after a plane crash left him badly burned, has vowed not to leave her ex-husband's side.
"She's been at his bedside ever since she got there," says a source close to Moakler, 33. "She loves him and she's not going to leave him."
The source adds, "It has all been very intense. [Shanna] is very emotional but also very strong."

Shanna Trying to Lift Travis's Spirits

Shanna Moakler was "devastated" when she learned about the plane crash that left her ex-husband, former Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker, and DJ AM badly burned and killed four others – including a close friend they consider "family."
Moakler rushed to Barker's side immediately after learning about the crash, which took place in Columbia, S.C., around midnight Friday.
"She's there trying to lift his spirits," a source close to Moakler tells PEOPLE. "She's there for him and will be there for him as long as it takes. She loves him."

Travis Barker: I'm Obsessed with My Kids

Travis Barker and his ex-wife Shanna Moakler have had a tumultuous past, but that hasn't let Barker loose sight of what's most important to him: his children.
"I have my kids every Friday through Monday, and I don't leave them the whole time I have them," Barker told PEOPLE Thursday at the Remy Martin Spirit Unleashed launch at Smashbox Studios in L.A. "I stay with them the entire, entire time. I don't go out to lunch with a friend and leave them with anybody else. "
Barker and Moakler have two children together – Landon, 4, Alabama, 2 – and stepdaughter Atiana, 9, Moakler's child with Oscar de la Hoya.
"I'm obsessed with my children. I'm only [at the party] today because I have to stay busy. After work I have to keep my mind off them because I can't be with them."
