Hard to believe, but on April 12, 1985, the teen flick Girls Just Want to Have Fun first hit theaters. Skip past the part where this 30th anniversary makes you feel old, and instead reflect on the fact that this film holds up remarkably well today.

Even a night at the Peach Pit After Dark wouldn't be able to top this.
Shannen Doherty, 42, and Jennie Garth, 41, jetted off to Sin City to catch their former Beverly Hills, 90210 costar Ian Ziering as a Chippendales dancer at Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino.
"Chippendales is a very interactive show and we managed to surprise them both by including them on stage in a few production numbers," Ziering tells PEOPLE. "I was very flattered by their comments. And judging by their reaction, I know they had a great time."

Shannen Doherty recently called 911 to help save a Twitter follower who was sending messages about wanting to commit suicide.
The former Beverly Hills 90210 star, 41, who was in California, was so concerned by the message from a distraught fan who'd aggressively Tweeted at her before, that she called police in Westhampton, N. J., and asked them for help. TMZ.com, which first reported the story, released the 911 call on Sunday.
"This is going to sound incredibly strange," she told a police dispatcher on the call. "My name is Shannen Doherty and I'm an actress. I am on Twitter, sadly, and there is a girl that is threatening to shoot herself and she lives somewhere over there. I'm completely untrained to deal with somebody threatening to commit suicide, especially via Twitter."

As much as Shannen Doherty and her new husband, Kurt Iswarienko, like the idea of becoming parents, there's one big – and adorable! – thing holding them back: their new puppy Bowie.
"We go back and forth all the time about it, it's like one minute we're like, 'Oh my God, let's have a baby!' and then the next minute our puppy does something crazy," she told PEOPLE at Jennie Garth's 40th birthday celebration in West Hollywood on Thursday night.

In her 2010 book Badass: A Hard-Earned Guide to Living Life with Style and (the Right) Attitude, Shannen Doherty said she had no regrets about her rocky past "because it's made me who I am today." But thinking about it more closely, she wishes she could do things differently after all.
"My parents raised me better than [the person I portrayed in the media], and I regret ever hurting my parents," the former Beverly Hills, 90210 actress, 40, said on an episode of The Talk that aired Tuesday. "What's funny is the older you get, the more honest [with yourself] I think you actually become."

Shannen Doherty's new reality show Shannen Says chronicles one of the most stressful and anxiety-ridden times in a couple's life – the wedding-planning process.

"Things couldn't be better. Married life is amazing, and I can only say that because of my partner, because of Kurt," Doherty, 40, told PEOPLE Thursday on a conference call with reporters to promote her new show.

Shannen Doherty knows what it's like to have her personal life on display – so she can relate to what former 90210 costar Jennie Garth is going through with her very public split from husband Peter Facinelli.
"I think that for somebody like Jennie who values family so much, this is incredibly hard for her," Doherty told PEOPLE Thursday on a conference call for reporters to promote her new reality show, Shannen Says.
"I feel for her and, more importantly, I feel for her kids," she continued. "There are children involved [and] children have access to the Internet and everything that somebody may write."

Shannen Doherty and photographer Kurt Iswarienko made it down the aisle in a black-tie, Malibu, Calif., wedding last October, but the process leading up to their nuptials wasn't always picture-perfect.
In a sneak peek of WE TV's Shannen Says, the former Beverly Hills, 90210 star, 40, gives her fans an inside look into the seven tumultuous weeks leading up to her big day.
Tensions run high for the couple, as Doherty calls Iswarienko profane names in one scene, leading to her say in another clip, "I don't want to fight with you anymore. We're going to a shrink."
