Originally posted 05/15/2012 06:45PM
These days, Sherée Whitfield says she's spending time with her family. She's working on a few projects, too, including a fitness challenge, and she's planning her next move.
It's been a month, after all, since she announced her decision to leave The Real Housewives of Atlanta, a move she calls "an amicable split."
"I was ready to move, and I don't need to explain myself to anybody," she tells Essence.com, shooting down rumors she was fired from the Bravo reality show. "I am super happy, and I'm moving in a different direction."
She adds: "I'm not about just being on a show bickering and fighting with women."

Looks like Atlanta is down one Housewife: Sheree Whitfield says she's leaving the popular Bravo show because she's tired of all the drama.
"After four solid seasons of helping Bravo build the show into its most successful Housewives franchise, I have decided to leave," the Real Housewives of Atlanta castmember tells Wetpaint Entertainment. "The direction the show is going in is no longer a fit for my lifestyle. I'm tired of the fighting and the cattiness."
Continues the reality star: "I want to be part of something that empowers and inspires women to not only be healthy, but to treat themselves with respect. I wish the rest of the women the best of luck."

New season, new drama.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta returned for its fourth season on Bravo Sunday night, and NeNe Leakes kicked it off with a bang.
Leakes reignited her rivalry with cast mate Sheree Whitfield, after she accused Leakes of interfering with her making money at appearances during the show's hiatus.
"While you're running your mouth ... I was running to the bank to deposit a Trump check," says Leakes, referring to her stint on Celebrity Apprentice. "Donald Trump! I am very rich."
Says Whitfield: "I think the amount of success NeNe's had has gone to her head."

Which Housewife Will Become a Successful Career Woman?
Originally posted 01/10/2011 03:30PM
For new Housewives Phaedra Parks and Cynthia Bailey, season 3 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta (their first on the show) has been a chance to share with the world big life events like Bailey's engagement to fiancé Peter and all the pomp (elaborate baby shower, followed by Sunday night's sip and see) of the arrival of Parks's baby boy with husband Apollo.
But for the show's remaining original stars, Kim Zolciak, NeNe Leakes and Sheree Whitfield, the season has been one big career day.
Following the success of her dance hit, "Tardy for the Party," Zolciak has decided she wants to be more than a one-hit wonder, working with costar Kandi Burruss to record a second single, "The Ring Didn't Mean a Thing," performing for huge crowds (like she did at the White Party) and going on a bus tour with Burruss.

SNL alum Molly Shannon has played many over-the-top characters over the years – but on Sunday night the comedian put a hilarious (and British!) spin on one of the Real Housewives of Atlanta's most outspoken personalities: Sheree Whitfield.
In a segment "Housewives Playhouse" on Bravo's late-night Watch What Happens Live (11 p.m. ET) Sunday night, Shannon teamed up with Kristin Chenoweth and host Andy Cohen to re-create that infamous "wig shifting" incident from season 2 of Atlanta. In the clip, Chenoweth plays Kim Zolciak and Cohen portrays NeNe Leakes.
