One of the world's most famous families met one of the world's most unusual animals: the dugong.
During a visit to the Sea Life Sydney Aquarium on Sept. 8, Angelina Jolie and her kids Knox, 5, Vivienne, 5, Shiloh, 7, Zahara, 8, and Pax, 9, came face-to-face with the aquarium's pair of dugongs, Pig and Wuru. The large marine mammals, which resemble manatees, are two of only six on display anywhere in the world. (For more information about the dugong, see the educational video below.)
A day earlier, Jolie, 38, took her brood to the Taronga Zoo in Sydney, where they saw Australian wildlife such as koalas, a ring-tailed possum and various reptiles.

Angelina Jolie may not have been at Brad Pitt's side at the New York premiere of his World War Z Monday night – like she was at the London opening – but she wasn't far from his mind.
"She's getting ready for World Refugee Day" this Thursday, Pitt told reporters on the red carpet, while Jolie was in Los Angeles.
Asked to describe his feelings about Jolie after she publicly announced her decision to undergo a preventative double mastectomy, Pitt replied: "She has always been the brave, bold individual that I fell for – and sexy as ever."

It was quite the 38th birthday for Angelina Jolie.
After celebrating with a surprise dinner in Paris with Brad Pitt, the festivities continued – this time with her entire family – in Berlin.
In Germany to attend Pitt's World War Z premiere (where she wore a white Ralph & Russo gown), the actress and her fiancé met up with their six kids for dinner after the movie at Kuchi Restaurant in Berlin's Mitte neighborhood.
According to an onlooker, Angelina changed into a black dress before dinner. The family, meanwhile, feasted on everything from sushi to yakitori specials and tofu with vegetables.

When Angelina Jolie went through her recent double mastectomy, she and Brad Pitt didn't keep it from their six children.
"We have a policy in our family, no secrets," Pitt, 49, told Extra at an after-party for World War Z. "I mean, there's an age of understanding, so you've got to present it in a way that is age appropriate, but we know our children very well."
The film's London premiere Sunday marked Jolie's first public appearance since revealing she had had surgery.

Even as Angelina Jolie began the process of having a preventative double mastectomy on Feb. 2, life for her six children with Brad Pitt has remained the same.
"Things have appeared normal. The kids have kept their schedules as usual," a source tells PEOPLE. "They have been in school during the day and have attended after-school activities like they always do."
Less than two weeks later, on Valentine's Day, Jolie and Pitt took their 4-year-old twins, Vivienne and Knox, to the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles, where the family explored the dinosaur hall and Discovery Center.

While most Americans celebrated Thanksgiving with family on Thursday, Brad Pitt spent his holiday with zombies on the set of World War Z in London.
"I didn't know it was Thanksgiving until like midday. Until [the] afternoon," he told PEOPLE in an interview for the coming issue.
"When you're overseas, they don't celebrate it in England. And [Angelina Jolie] and some of the kids are overseas in Cambodia this week, working on the [The Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation] there," he said. "It completely escaped me until someone brought me some English pumpkin pie."

When it comes to taking on a role, Brad Pitt has a lot to consider, specifically his family.
In Interview's October/November issue, Pitt talks to Guy Ritchie about balancing his acting career with his love for producing films and his family.
"There are always creative issues, but those practical issues are also significant: who you're going to be with, where you're going to be together, how everyone's schedules line up, how long it's going to take you away from your family," says Ritchie.
