It's certainly been a busy week for Sinéad O'Connor.
The Irish singer – who got into a war of words with Miley Cyrus earlier this week after reaching out to the 20-year-old in an open letter advising her not to "prostitute" herself – is now worrying about the death of rock 'n' roll.
And she knows who killed it – Simon Cowell.
In an interview on The Late Late Show in Ireland on Friday, the 46-year-old blasted the X Factor judge.

The war of words between singers Miley Cyrus and Sinéad O'Connor has escalated into a potential legal battle.
What started as an open letter from one former pop princess to a current one – in which a concerned O'Connor, 46, urged Cyrus, 20, not "to prostitute" herself – has quickly turned nasty.

Miley Cyrus recently said in her weed-is-the-best-drug-on-earth Rolling Stone interview that she based her instantly infamous "Wrecking Ball" video on the haunting, tearful image of Sinéad O'Connor in the video for her 1990 mega-hit, "Nothing Compares 2 U."
Yet it seems the quirky Irish musician is less than flattered.
O'Connor, 46, penned an open letter to Cyrus, 20, on her website, reports E! Online, and O'Connor makes it clear that she believes swinging naked on a wrecking ball and twerking your way to the top isn't a recipe for a healthy, fulfilled existence.

Now that's commitment.
Sinéad O'Connor debuted two brand new accessories when she performed at the Bestival 2013 in England on Friday – facial tattoos done in red ink.
Wearing sunglasses to shield her eyes, O'Connor's prominent tattoos in the shape of a "B" and a "Q" couldn't be hidden.

Love is not for Sinead O'Connor. Neither, she says, are the journalists of her native Ireland.
"Certain sections of our media are pure evil," the singer, whose lively website has chronicled her marital travails, states in a blog post Friday.
"These people, along with others caused enormous damage deliberately and maliciously to my innocent flower of a husband, purely because he was with me," O'Connor writes of husband Barry Herridge – whom she wed on Dec. 8 in Las Vegas, then separated from 16 days later.

Perhaps she spoke too soon?
Sinead O'Connor recently announced the end of her 16-day marriage to Barry Herridge, but the two appear to be pretty chummy still.
The couple was spotted walking arm-in-arm together after leaving a pub in Ireland on Wednesday.
The "Nothing Compares 2 U" singer married in a drive-thru wedding in Las Vegas on Dec. 8. Just weeks later, O'Connor wrote on her website that her marriage was over, blaming pressures placed upon him by "certain people in his life" not to be with her.

It looks like Sinead O'Connor is walking away from her 16-day marriage bolder but wiser.
The "Nothing Compares 2 U" singer, 45, announced her split from fourth husband, Barry Herridge, on Monday, 16 days after the two tied the knot in a well-planned Dec. 8 drive-through wedding in Las Vegas. Now, O'Connor tells Britain's Sun tabloid, "I don't think I will even date anyone."
What sabotaged the union? "It felt like I was living in a coffin. It was going to be a coffin for both of us, and I saw him crushed," she says of Herridge, 38. "The whole reason I ended it was out of respect and love for the man."

It's over already? Eighteen days after her Dec. 8 Las Vegas wedding, Sinead O'Connor announced she is ending her marriage to Barry Herridge, the "Nothing Compares 2 U" singer said Monday on her website.
"Dear friends," O'Connor 45, writes, "I had for reasons u will all understand, wished to keep this private but have been told today it is to be leaked in the next few days despite my best efforts. So I must now leak it myself so as the record is straight."
She blames pressures placed upon him by "certain people in his life" not to be with her based on press reports about her.

Sinead O'Connor said she was too busy for a honeymoon. And sure enough, the Irish singer was back on stage Sunday for a show at Dublin's Olympia Theatre.
The newlywed cut a striking figure in a black leather corset with matching black leather pants, leading her band in a set just 10 days after marrying Barry Herridge in the back of a pink Cadillac in Las Vegas.
O'Connor, 45, was joined on stage by her daughter Roisin, 15, for several songs, the Irish Independent reports.

Her wedding may have been "too glorious for words" but Sinead O'Connor's honeymoon will simply have to wait.
"We don't really have time for that because we're both working a lot," the singer, who tied the knot with Barry Herridge in Las Vegas last Thursday, told PEOPLE Tuesday at the Giorgio Armani and Cinema Society screening of Albert Nobbs in New York.
On the agenda instead? "Lots of snuggling," said the singer, who performed an original song, "Lay Your Head Down," from the film, which stars Screen Actors Guild Award nominee Glenn Close as a woman posing as a man to keep her job as a butler in 19th century Ireland.
