Cloudy with a Chance of Stars: See Katy Perry and 4 Other Celebs Give the Morning Weather

Originally posted 03/05/2014 03:45PM

Being a TV weatherman usually requires a degree in meteorology and several internships, but there's one type of person who gets to skip right to the front of the line in this competitive field – celebrities.

Katy Perry delighted viewers Wednesday when she appeared on Australian morning show Sunrise to promote her upcoming tour of the Oceanic nation, and in the process tried her hand at reading the country's weather.

Perry got through the segment with a reasonable amount of aplomb – like most Americans, she can pronounce "Sydney" and "Adelaide" with ease – though she ran into trouble when the forecast turned to Tasmania, mispronouncing the island's capital as "Hogwarts." (It's actually Hobart.)

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Named 2013's Top-Earning Movie Star

Originally posted 12/17/2013 04:15PM

Robert Downey Jr. is no longer the highest-earning actor in Hollywood. That honor now belongs to a different man of steel – Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

Topping Forbes's new list of the top-grossing actors of 2013, Johnson's star vehicles – which included the action flicks Snitch, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Pain & Gain and Fast & Furious 6 – took in a combined $1.3 billion in global ticket sales and cemented his place as this year's most bankable movie star.

Downey Jr. – who topped last year's list of highest-grossing movie stars thanks to the hugely successful The Avengers – came in a close second to Johnson this year, despite starring in Iron Man 3, the top-earning movie of 2013, which raked in $1.2 billion.
