Steven Tyler Proposes New Senate Bill in Hawaii

Jennifer Aniston and Justin Bieber have spoken out about the need for rules and regulations surrounding the paparazzi – most recently after a paparazzo was killed in a tragic accident.
Now, Steven Tyler is adding his voice to the mix.
The rock star and American Idol alum, 64, has proposed Hawaii Senate Bill 465 – now dubbed the Steven Tyler Act – which the would provide a legal remedy for celebrities photographed while engaged in "personal or familial activity" and have a reasonable expectation of privacy, according to a press release obtained by PEOPLE Friday.

Steven Tyler Auditions in Drag for American Idol

Former judge Steven Tyler made a surprise cameo on American Idol Thursday night – dressed as a woman.
Calling himself Pepper LaBeija after the famous drag queen featured in the 1990 documentary Paris Is Burning, Tyler wore a blonde wig, snakeskin miniskirt and fake breasts that honked when squeezed. (There will be no "Dude Looks Like a Lady" jokes because, frankly, he didn't.)
Looking eerily like Joan Rivers, Tyler blew kisses at the camera and reduced judge Keith Urban to hysterical laughter.

The more, the merrier!
Steven Tyler and Vince Vaughn stepped out separately at Sunset Marquis's Bar 1200 in West Hollywood on Monday night.
Both stars arrived around 10 p.m. – and didn't seem to see each another, an onlooker tells PEOPLE.
"Steven was there with a group of guys and girls," the source adds. "There was a birthday going on. He was posing with his friends for photos. They were laughing and having a great time."
Meanwhile, Vaughn kept a low profile with a few male friends.

Is the American Idol judges' panel filling up?
"Super Bass" singer Nicki Minaj is reportedly in talks to join judge Mariah Carey on the show for its 12th season. According to an Associated Press report, "a deal is in works" for Minaj, 29.
Meanwhile, a source tells PEOPLE that Enrique Iglesias, who is currently on tour with departing judge Jennifer Lopez, is being considered for the show, which also lost Steven Tyler after season 11.
"Idol has expressed a lot of interest but no final word on either side yet," a source tells PEOPLE of the "I Like It" singer, 36.

Johnny Depp Out Until Wee Hours at an Aerosmith-Hosted After Party

It was all good vibes for Johnny Depp on Monday night, when the actor – whose split from longtime girlfriend Vanessa Paradis was officially announced in June – stopped by a private shindig for Aerosmith at Harry Morton's Pink Taco Sunset Strip in West Hollywood.
At the venue, which Steven Tyler rented out, an onlooker tells PEOPLE Depp was in "high spirits and [seemed to] really enjoy the party."
Mingling with everyone in the room, including Liv Tyler, Jim Carrey and the hosts of the night, Depp, says the source, table-hopped until about 2:00

Steven Tyler Talks to His Dogs

In early July, Steven Tyler announced he'd be leaving American Idol to focus on making music with Aerosmith. But his departure from the show also freed him up to spend more time with other loves – his dogs.
"[I have] a Yorkie and a Morkie," he tells TIME. "One is a teacup I put in my pocket. And the other one I put in a sling over my shoulder, and I walk around, and it's the cutest f–––ing thing on the planet.
After battling drug addiction for years and entering rehab multiple times, Tyler confesses that his now-sober lifestyle can get lonely at times, which is when he turns to his pooches for support.

Mariah Carey Will Make $18 Million on American Idol

The newest face at the judges' table is taking home the biggest paycheck.
Mariah Carey, who has officially signed on to join American Idol, will reportedly earn about $18 million for the season.
"Her deal is rumored to be just under $18 million for one year with an option to renew," a source familiar with the negotiation tells PEOPLE.
Carey, 43, will reportedly be the highest paid judge on any reality show.

Steven Tyler Gets Wet in N.Y.C.

It was a wet and wild night for Steven Tyler on Sunday.
The former American Idol judge took in a showing of Fuerza Bruta with two pals and his bodyguard at the Daryl Roth Theatre in N.Y.C.
Known for its iconic Mylar pool scene, Tyler wanted to experience it for himself.
"Steven actually got into the pool with the [female cast members] and [seemed to] love every minute of the experience," a source tells PEOPLE.
Calling the Aerosmith front man "incredibly generous," the source goes on to say that he even invited the entire cast to come out and see his show the following night.

Jennifer Lopez Confirms She's Leaving American Idol

After months of speculation, and the "hardest business conversation she's ever had," Jennifer Lopez confirms she is leaving American Idol after two seasons.
"I honestly feel like the time has come that I have to get back to doing the other things that I do, that I put ... on hold because I love Idol so much," Lopez, 42, told Ryan Seacrest Friday on his KIIS-FM morning show.
"I could do Idol for the rest of my life," she said, "but that would be giving up a bunch of other things. We had an amazing run."
Lopez follows in the footsteps of fellow judge Steven Tyler, who announced Thursday that he will not be returning for another season.
