Finally! Orange Is the New Black's Season 2 Trailer Is Out

Orange Is the New Black's Season 2 Trailer Promises Sass, Snark and Drama

Originally posted 04/17/2014 02:00PM

The ladies of Litchfield Penitentiary are back and better than ever.

Netflix released the trailer for Orange is the New Black's second season Thursday, and it finds the inmates full of sass and snark. The whole gang returns for round two – besides religious fanatic Pennsatucky (Taryn Manning), conspicuously absent after the season 1 finale's violent cliff-hanger. But Piper (Taylor Schilling) is in especially fine form, apparently put in solitary due to the scary altercation.

"Sadly, it's starting to feel like home in here," she quips of her white-walled cell.

She won't stay settled for long. A new prisoner, simply called "V", arrives to shake things up. She immediately incurs the wrath of Red (the two seem to be long-lost enemies) yet clicks with Crazy Eyes (Uzo Aduba).

Attention Orange is the New Black fans: The Ladies of Litchfield are back for a brand-new season.

"The beauty of this show is how we straddle the line between comedy and drama," Taylor Schilling, who stars as Piper Chapman on the prison-based series, tells PEOPLE. "It's a true ensemble. In season two, we'll see how Piper's story continues, but the show also gets wider and deeper to tell the stories of even more of the women."

In addition to Schilling, other fan favorites – including new dad Jason Biggs, Laura Prepon, Kate Mulgrew and Taryn Manning – will return, while newcomer Lorraine Toussaint joins the cast as inmate Yvonne "Vee" Parker.

New shade? Time to take it out on the town!

Sporting a fresh new hair color, Taryn Manning hosted a private dinner for her colorist Beth Minardi on Tuesday in New York City.

The Orange Is the New Black star chose The Lion restaurant for her event, with the meal taking place inside a library-like room. Beauty editors and people close to Minardi were also in tow.

Showing off her new cinnamon toast-shaded mane, Manning, clad in Catherine Malandrino, "was in good spirits and arrived with a female friend," an onlooker tells PEOPLE. "She looked great and expressed excitement over having a night of beauty, given that her TV character is the complete opposite."

Manning, 33, allegedly punched and kicked the woman in an early morning fight, which occurred at the Dream Downtown Hotel in the city's Chelsea neighborhood, the same place where Lindsay Lohan was involved in an automobile accident with a pedestrian recently, TMZ.com reports.

According to Manning's defense attorney Joe Tacopina, the whole incident was blown out of proportion.

It was a busy night at the STK L.A. Anniversary party in West Hollywood on Wednesday, but Ryan Phillippe managed to slip inside relatively unnoticed with gal pal Paulina Slagter.

"Ryan drove in through the garage to avoid paparazzi, and he was brought into the restaurant through the kitchen," a source tells PEOPLE. "He and Paulina were very cute and held hands at their private table, tucked away from the rest of the crowd."

Slagter, who is reportedly still in college, and Phillippe, took in the sounds of Bibi McGill, the touring lead guitarist for Beyoncé, who did a few special performances at the ONE Group's trendy eatery throughout the night, to honor its four years in existence.

David Spade, Taryn Manning and a Kendra Wilkinson-less Hank Baskett were also in tow for the festive evening.

"Hank left in his Cadillac with a guy pal," an onlooker says. "When asked where Kendra was by a random partygoer, he said she was with her mom in San Diego. He couldn't have been nicer to fans who approached him."

Taryn Manning Releases Sexy New Video

Originally posted 05/04/2011 11:35AM

It's been two years since Taryn Manning debuted her video "Run Boy" on PEOPLE.com – and now the actress-singer is back with a brand new video, this time for her single "Turn it Up."

"It's a flirtatious song. Guys always write songs about girls and sexual stuff. It's almost a girl's take on being a little pervy in a funny way," Manning, 32, tells PEOPLE.

"It talks more or less about hooking up with a guy," she says, "and by the end of the song I'm like, 'Oh can you tell me your name again?' It's really just a bunch of metaphors for having fun with the opposite sex, or the same sex, or whatever you might prefer."

The Sopranos may be on hiatus, but Jamie-Lynn DiScala has been keeping herself busy – especially at night. "I'm shooting a horror movie right now called Darkride," she tells us. "We film only during the nights. I've become a night owl. Last night I came home with a bunch of blood on me. It's crazy. But I'm really having a lot of fun." It's not all blood-and-gore for the actress, however. DiScala will guest-star on Will & Grace on Nov. 25, playing Will's boyfriend's sister (got that?). As for her downtime, DiScala says she and her manager-husband A.J. (wed since July 2003) are getting ready for their first holiday season since moving to L.A. from New York. "We're hosting," she says. "It will be a little bit of both families. And then Aspen for New Year's and St. Barts after that. We haven't honeymooned yet, so we're trying to do it in little installments."
