Though Joe Giudice said the last year was "the worst" of his life – with wife Teresa Giudice in prison and his father's unexpected death on June 18, 2014 – it hasn't broken his marriage.
How are the Giudices – who have weathered many storms in their 15-year marriage – coping? All of the usual marital ways: communication, empathy, jokes about – and actual – sex.

It looks like the bad blood between the Joes of The Real Housewives of New Jersey is far from over.
Teresa Giudice's husband Joe and her brother Joe Gorga both appeared on Sunday's episode of Watch What Happens Live following the premiere of the three-part special Teresa Checks In, which will chronicle how life has been for the Giudice family during Teresa's 15-month prison sentence.
Despite the episode showing improved, if still somewhat strained, relations between the two families – who feuded for several years once the Gorgas joined the show – Giudice, 43, may have just reignited the conflict with a shocking revelation: He blames his brother-in-law for Teresa's incarceration.

As she acknowledged in Sunday's The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In (the first in a three-part special): "Most 14-year-olds are not equipped to deal with the situation that I'm dealing with."
She continued, "No doubt about it, I wish my mom was here, but I know everything's going to be okay."

Just because Teresa Giudice is behind bars doesn't mean she's less involved in her daughters' lives.
In fact, the Real Housewives of New Jersey Star, who will be released on Dec. 23, helped plan her daughter Gia's eighth-grade formal this past June with the help of cousin Teresa, who said on Sunday's premiere of The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In that Giudice had sent multiple emails on the day of the event to ensure every detail down to the table cloths was perfect.
During the first episode in three-part special, viewers got an inside view of how the Giudice girls (Gia, Milania, Gabriella and Audriana) have been coping with their mom's absence – and how she worked to make it up to them.

It's tough not having mom around.
Teresa has been away from her four daughters since starting her prison sentence, and it's been particularly tough on Gia, 14. In a clip for The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In, Teresa calls Gia on the evening of her 8th grade dance, just before she's about to put on makeup.
