The backup singer has moved to center stage.
"I'm still in shock, to be honest," Tessanne Chin told PEOPLE shortly after winning the fifth season of The Voice Tuesday night. "When [Carson Daly] said my name, I was just completely overcome."
The Jamaican powerhouse also admitted she was in awe after sharing the stage with Céline Dion.
"That, for me, was an out-of-body experience because when you've had that dream for so long and it finally happens, it's unlike anything you can imagine," Chin, 28, said. "Then it's made even better when the person is so warm and so genuine and so sweet … I adore her."
