Tim Tebow & Jeremy Lin Connect over Faith

They're two of the biggest names in American sports – and now, they're friends.
New York Knicks star point guard Jeremy Lin, 23, and Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow , 24 – both famously devout Christians – have "connected," Lin's former chaplain at Harvard, Adrian Tam, tells PEOPLE.
"They've spoken over the telephone. Jeremy's been a fan of Tebow's for a while, but only recently were they able to connect," says Tam of Lin, who's followed Tebow since his quarterback days on the national champion University of Florida football team.
"His comment to me was that Tim is a really great guy and that he's very inspired by him," adds Tam.

Tim Tebow got on one knee in Indianapolis Saturday night – to "Tebow" with Maria Menounos in the VIP section of ESPN's Super Bowl party. It was a special treat for the Extra hostess, who Tebowed solo on the Golden Globes red carpet in January.
Nearby, Tom Cruise's son Connor and his posse held court at a table, while Spike Lee, bedecked in Giants gear, relaxed with his son; Shaquille O'Neal cuddled with pint-sized girlfriend Nicole "Hoopz" Alexander; and Drake warmed up for his set by handing out shots to women near the stage.

Having already demonstrated his fancy footwork on the football field, is Tim Tebow ready to step onto the ballroom floor?
Affirmative, according to most-recent champ on Dancing with the Stars, J.R. Martinez.
Saying he and the Denver Bronco quarterback – and Jockey brand underwear model – recently ran into one another, Martinez tells Celebuzz.com, "We chatted about [Dancing"]. ... I thought he'd do pretty well on the show!"
Only not this season. "He said, 'Maybe in a year,' " said Martinez.

Katy Perry performed her first U.S. concert since splitting from hubby Russell Brand in Indianapolis, Ind., Saturday night, delivering a party-starting nine-song set for guests at the DIRECTV Super Saturday Night Hosted by Mark Cuban and Peyton Manning.
And the pop star seemed to have Super Bowl fever: Sporting a glittery, football-themed top and high-cut grey spandex shorts, Perry kicked off the show at 11:45 p.m. by bursting through a banner emblazoned with her name, just like a hometown gridiron hero.

Their poses aren't exactly Tebowing, but the Cirque du Soleil contortionists are impressive! They showed off their moves after meeting the Denver Broncos Quarterback backstage Wednesday night.
Tim Tebow checked out the 10 p.m. performance of "O" by Cirque du Soleil (his Cirque first!) at the Bellagio in Las Vegas with his brother and three friends, snacking on popcorn and Fiji water during the show.
The next night a very different kind of "idol" stopped by: Jennifer Lopez took a break from filming American Idol to catch the early show with Casper Smart on Thursday.

Karina Smirnoff may have a mirror-ball trophy and a dream job on Dancing with the Stars, but she still has a birthday wish.
"All I want for my birthday is for Tim Tebow to dance on Dancing with the Stars," she said Saturday, not long after Tebow and his Broncos team were ousted from the NFL playoffs by Tom Brady and his Patriots. "Tim is a very talented athlete, that was clear when we saw his performance this past season with Denver."
Celebrating her 34th birthday in Las Vegas, the newly single Dancing champ began at Sugar Factory and was joined briefly by fellow pro Mark Ballas, who had just finished up his duties as a judge at the Miss America pageant.

Tim Tebow is as known for his game-time prayer poses as he is for his fourth-quarter comebacks. Come Saturday night, the Denver Broncos quarterback will get yet another shot at redemption.
The game comes a week after a noteworthy Broncos victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, in which Tebow threw a career-high 316 yards (a number that corresponds to his favorite Bible verse).
But last time Tebow went head-to-head with Tom Brady's New England Patriots, his six-game winning streak was put to a halt in the hands of the seasoned pro.

In "Tim Tebow's Fire," Parr sings, "I can see a new horizon underneath the blazin' sky. I'll be where the eagle's flyin' higher and higher. Gonna be a man in motion, all I needs my Broncos team. Take me where my future's lyin,' Tim Tebows Fire."

Can you imagine playing a game of backyard touch football with your next-door neighbor, Tim Tebow?
The star quarterback is the celebrity American adults would most like to have living next door, according to the latest Zillow Celebrity Neighbor Survey.
More than 1,000 adults age 18 and up from around the country were interviewed on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 for the survey.
While 11 percent of all participants (14 percent of males and seven percent of females) said they would prefer Tebow to be just over the fence, the Jolie-Pitt family came in a close second, with 10 percent of the vote. New cohabitants Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux were a close third, with 9 percent.

As far as college classes go, Melvin Thomas wasn't looking forward to biology lab. The University of Florida student would rather take a humanities course or an economics course or something more reading-intensive. Science, not so much.
But his biology lab would prove to be one of the more memorable courses of his college career.
His appreciation for his weekly lab started on the first day of class: the day Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow walked into the room, nodded in his direction and sat down in the empty chair at his desk.
"Hi, I'm Melvin."
"Hi," Tebow, then the quarterback for the Florida Gators, replied. "I'm Tim."
