What started as a guys night out recently for Jay-Z, Jake Gyllenhaal, Pharrell Williams and some other male pals, was soon interrupted by Beyoncé Knowles's mom Tina and sister Solange.
But that didn't seem to be a problem. The gang, who partied at the D'usse Cognac Launch party at The Top of the Standard in New York City, seemed in great spirits, hanging out in a roped-off section, watching the Knicks basketball game on TV.
"They were very cheerful, laughing and enjoying the game," an onlooker tells PEOPLE. "Several partygoers tried to steal pics."

Beyoncé and Jay-Z's newborn daughter Blue Ivy is already charming all the right people, including her grandma.
"She's doing great," a beaming Tina Knowles told PEOPLE at the Runway to Win fundraising reception for Barack Obama in New York. "She's beautiful."
As for her duties as a doting grandma, Knowles calls them "amazing," adding, "It's the second best job I've ever had."
Although her adoration for the new addition to her family was certainly instantaneous, Knowles is waiting to decide which parent little Blue resembles most.

She may have shot down pregnancy rumors last month but that doesn't mean Beyoncé's mother, Tina Knowles, isn't ready for her superstar daughter to join her sister Solange and give her a grandchild.
"Of course I am [ready for her to have a baby]," she told PEOPLE at the launch event for the Lorraine Schwartz "2BHAPPY" Jewelry Collection at LAVO in New York this week. "What grandmother isn't? I can't wait."
And, Knowles adds, her daughter and husband Jay-Z have what it takes to be "great parents."

Tina Knowles wants to set the record straight: Daughter Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z are not expecting a baby – at least, not yet.
"I'm here to clear the rumors up. The truth is that it's not Beyoncé that's pregnant. It's me," Knowles says with a smile in an interview airing Thursday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Really? "I'm kidding y'all. I'm 56. No, no, it's not true [about Beyoncé]. Not right now."
