Former Vice President Al Gore and his wife, Tipper, who separated in 2010 but still have not filed for divorce, have both found love again.
"They're each dating," a friend of the former couple tells PEOPLE.
Al, 64, has paired up with Democratic and environmental activist Elizabeth Keadle, 53. Tipper, 63, has recently stepped out with former National Geographic editor Bill Allen, 71, who shares the former Second Lady's passion for photography.
A friend of Tipper's says the new couple, who have known each other for years through mutual friends in photography circles, have been out together to D.C. dinner parties.

According to the tabloids, the last straw in Al and Tipper Gore's 40-year marriage was massage therapist Molly Hagerty's claim the former Vice President demanded sexual favors during a 2006 massage in his Portland, Ore. hotel room.
"And they also say Al had an affair with a Tennessee Titans cheerleader one week, a Hollywood producer the next," says a friend close to the Gores.
But, adds the friend, "None of these is true. Both Al and Tipper are baffled by the allegations across the board, frustrated to see his name dragged through the mud."

News of Al and Tipper Gore's 40-year marriage ending hasn't just taken the public by surprise. It's also shocked the couple's friends who say they never detected any martial problems between the former Vice President and his wife.
"They were always such a loving and supportive couple and are incredibly close, especially for a couple in politics," one source tells PEOPLE about the Gores, who announced on Tuesday that they are separating.
"They were always affectionate and loving and a tight family unit," adds the source. "I am shocked."

It was a Washington love story that followed a Hollywood script: But now Al and Tipper Gore's marriage is coming to an end.
The former Vice President, 62, and his wife, 61, are separating, they announced Tuesday. The couple, who have four children, have been married for 40 years.
The Gores said it was "a mutual and mutually supportive decision that we have made together following a process of long and careful consideration," according to an e-mailed statement obtained by The Associated Press Tuesday.
Gore spokeswoman Kalee Kreider confirmed the statement came from the couple, but declined further comment.
