He's long since changed out of his Slytherin robes, but Tom Felton still loves dabbling in the Dark Arts.
The British actor, 26, best known for his role as Harry Potter's nemesis Draco Malfoy in the films, is currently starring as a ruthless Silicon Valley prodigy in TNT's new crime drama, Murder in the First.
"The nice thing about this character is, it's the same as Draco: People instantly see others as good or bad, and realistically people aren't like that at all," Felton told PEOPLE at the VIP and media preview of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley at Universal Studios in Orlando on Wednesday.

Harry Potter's handsome villain, Tom Felton, may play married-with-children in Deathly Hallows Part II but says real kids aren't coming anytime soon.
Felton's real-life girlfriend, Jade Gordon, makes a cameo appearance in the final installment of the Potter films, out July 15, as his onscreen wife.
"It was a lot of fun to play onscreen hubby and wife for a bit and have a kid for three days," Felton told reporters recently. "Three days is a good amount of time, for anyone wondering."

"For the first two movies, I had a huge crush on Tom Felton. He was my first crush. He totally knows. We talked about it. We still laugh about it. We are really good friends now, and that's cool."

Though he often finds himself living in the shadow of Daniel Radcliffe's heroic title character, British actor Tom Felton graduates to leading man status in the latest installment of the series, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, as his character Draco Malfoy evolves from simple troublemaker into serious villain.
As a result, the blond brusier, 21, tells PEOPLE, "I get a lot of boos from kids around the world. When kids visit on set they're all happy to meet Dan and Rupert [Grint]. When I come out they have a blank face and don't want to shake my hand … but I take that as a compliment."
Even tougher than the snub is staying platinum blond.
